I never tried to downplay russian involvement, i'm trying to check the fools who try and downplay american involvement. Look at the very beginning of this whole thing before picking a side for one reason or another.

 

Man...you gotta take that college crap for what it is. Do your OWN reading. Find some books. Read on your own time. Read some books from different sources, different countries. And then decide for yourself.

:roflokay man, in the meantime, aside from your advice, which I dont care about, any facts to counteract my points? at this point i'm seriously interested in a rebuttal, because there's clearly a decent amount of people who refuse to accept historical fact.

 

1. I am a combat veteran who obviously tends to be conservative. I have no anti-American agenda.

2. I was originally gonna type a long and detailed rebuttal of what you posted. It was going to consist of the fact that Hitler sent his best forces to the east long before D-Day; and that if he had not, there would be no D Day.

3. Then I read a little further and saw where you asked if I needed you to tell me what the Rhine is. Let me tell you something you stupid little ****. I've seen the Rhine. I was treated at a hospital in Landstuhl when I was medevaced. I've also seen the Tigris, the Euphrates, and the ruins of Babylon. I can't believe a little **** like you is talking down to me because you went to college. Do you really think you're the only one?

4. Finally, I've have given more to this country than you and your wikipedia facts ever will. You are less than the filth on the bottom of my boot.

you have no anti-american agenda? sounds like you do. a person who didn't wouldn't assert the revisionist bull**** that there would be no D-Day had Hitler not dispatched his best to the East. Read something, the British were up against the wall and the americans weren't involved militarily when he did that. secondly, only a fool would say that had hitler's strongest forces been dispatched to the west, they would've been able to defeat the allies (because to say that there would be no d-day is to assert defeat on the part of the allies, since d-day was the culmination of the war), who around D-Day possessed the greatest level of weaponry the world had ever seen up until that point. give me a break.

to answer your second point, good for you. and no I dont think i'm the only one, but clearly from the majority of responses to my proven assertions, i'm the only one who learned.

thirdly, you've given more to what country? maybe if in fact, you are a combat veteran, in which case, you've seen the worst. how can my words on an internet forum compel you to compare me to the filth at the bottom of your boot? you sound like a phony, there's no way to support your claims. it probably would have been a better bet if you typed that long and detailed rebuttal of what I posted.

 

How stupid are you? Do you think that the Nazi's sprung up over night at the beginning of the war? Do you think their actions were not known before the war started? The American government should have banned military sales to the Nazi's long before the onset of the war! Also, there were indirect sales from American industry well into the war. You claim Hitler was broke yet he was still able to bring most of the western world to its knees . . . Let me guess those books you read in College were made in the USA. Don't you know History is written by the victors?

 

Make a long time-line of the war. Put points on the time-line. Use a variety of sources. ha - perhaps try to minimize those sources from the West published during the Cold War. Look at it impartially.

 

what actions? the systematic extermination of all jews? the final solution wasn't put into full effect until 1942, three years after the war had started. the american goverment should have banned military sales? what the hell are military sales? they cant be sales by the american military, to germany, because that NEVER HAPPENED. that's BULL****. "indirect sales from american industry"? how ambiguous can you be? like I said, some american COMPANIES, NOT GOVERNMENT, sold arms to the germans, before the war. any sales became impossible when the british blockaded germany in 1939, at the beginning of the war. also, not every one of my college books were made in the U.S.A. as a matter of fact, one of my favorite books is by Carl Von Clausewitz. do you know who that is?

 

listen, i'm big sizewise, so? what are you talking about? what are you going to do over the internet? your gonna threaten me physically for restating what I know to be historical fact? yea, the russians were involved in defeating the germans, but that is that, involved. the fact that russian lives were lost on a greater scale than any other allied country comes as a result of its proximity to germany, the style of war waged between them, and the barbarity the german military showed toward them.

 

I dont get your point, and I dont care. how about instead of trying to tell me how to view history, get involved in this argument and put your ideas about the war out there?
