Yoshida who was 60lbs was landing flush right hands on Gardners face with ease, Gardner would have been knocked out by any decent striker his size. Also get your head out of your ass what a man does with his life is his own business.

Not much. Karelin would've been great though. With his work ethics he could've been something truly special.

Gardner won via bull**** rule that favors fat people. For anyone who doesn't know. It was a lame loss.

I remember thinking that in 2000 when I was 13 years old and hadn't watched a single amateur wrestling match in my life. I remember he was a great American hero or whatever but he really did nothing except be difficult to move. He didn't seem athletic at all...

If he is happy in his little hick town, running his own small business, I don’t see any reason to bash the man.

Nice write up. Thanks for posting. I remember Gardner's fight with Yoshida and although he came away with the win it was neither impressive nor easy. I recall that he was able to secure a few takedowns and land a few punches but for the most part the match was uneventful. I would much rather have seen Mirko Crocop welcome Garnder into MMA. That would have been a whole different ball game.

But I agree that it always baffled me that Gardner just disappeared after his fight with Yoshida. I wanted to see him return to the ring.

    He didn't like fighting.

He would not have been a good fighter as a result.

I fail to see any stupidity whatsoever.

Yeah, didn't he lose his toe or something? I saw his documentary on TV once and he was talking about that snow situation. I just forgot exactly what happened.

"His overall mass and uncanny speed would have been too much for arguably the best jujitsu masters out there as well such as Mir and Nog"

So if a man just wants to live a nice life in his own small town, how is he a Dolt? Some people just don't like fame once the get it. It sounds like he is one of these people. He is happy with the life that he has.

    Exactly.

Does the OP think Peter Green is an idiot for leaving Fleetwood Mac, Barret for leaving Pink Floyd? etc

Because REAL fans appreciate everything they done while active.
