Much respect to the man who live his life according to his own beliefs rather than let money rule him.
Basically, went out into some mountains, got himself separated from his friends, then didn't pay attention to the time, stranded himself without any sort of equipment/gear to survive a day. Worst part, he was on a snow mobile.
It's a nice change to see someone not making a decision based on money, he's unique for doing so, but definitely not stupid. I think it's much harder for people to appreciate that these days with a society so focussed on wealth and fame. There's a good example with a fella i know who can make very good money in mma, yet a judo gold medal is by far the bigger appeal. I've no doubt his decision was based on numerous factors anyway, mma is much more than wrestling and he likely knew that.
