    Which one was it:

    Mararito beating Cotto
    Hopkins beating Pavlik
    Marquez beating Casamayor
    Vitaly K beating Peter

    ???

A Margarito victory was not completely out of the question. Marquez's was impressive, as some thought he'd struggle with the weight.

But in terms of previous thought of the matchup, can anyone seriously believe that people thought this was a mismatch when it was first announced?!?!?! Pavlik's workrate was supposed to take him to a decision at least, and many thought Hopkins' tendancy to tire late on would see Pavlik score a K.O.

Even the most ardent of Hopkins fans said Hopkins would win a tight decision or a SD.

And look what he's done? Given a virtuoso performance!

Though I picked Hopkins to win, it's his fight that wins this poll. No one was giving Hopkins a chance in hell in this one and the way discussions went building up to the fight all wondered how bad Hopkins will get KO'd.

Pavlik/Hopkins will probably go down as the upset of the decade. Partly due to how completely one sided it was. The other fights you mentioned weren't really upsets in my opinion.

i think most people considered Hopkins a live underdog. Even though i called Pavlik to UD Hopkins, i put a tenner on BHop by UD at 5/1, which i thought was amazing odds. I know I'm not the only one.

Bigger upsets this year include Quintana over Wiliams and Campbell over Diaz.

As a huge underdog I would consider this shocking, he wasn't given a chance in any discussion I ran into, online or real life and even articles all had him losing and losing badly. When the complete opposite happens then it's shocking, pretty much like the Tarver fight only this one is worse.

    Margarito v Cotto.

The people in the know knew Hopkins was going to win this fight hands down.

Hopkins: not because he won but because of the way he won. Very closely followed by Vitali, for the very same reason.

Well the only one I picked wrong was Cotto-Margarito, so that is the shocker for me.
