The biggest threat to Usyk

Whereas I don't agree that Kabeyal beats Usyk, I understand the point of view because he is the best body puncher at heavy in recent times, and there is the largely false narrative that Usyk is weak to the body. It is an idea that has taken on a life of its own, right or wrong.

Hrgovic has no chance whatsoever against Usyk. I mean, have you ever actually seen Hrgovic fight?

 

When we call kabayel,s resume with 26 fights against 25 opponents "mega thin" , how would you call usyk,s resume with 8 fights against 5 opponents at heavy then ???

I see usyk outperforming agit in skills and ring iq but agit is all wrong for usyk with his liver treatment . And he is fearless with an iron heart .

Should usyk be unable to switch off kabayel early , kabayel would switch off usyk with body shots later on .

It would be a very interesting fight that kabayel would immediately agree , but it will never happen since usyk prefers to fight jake paul ...

 

Yes, but Usyk has five wins against three of the four best heavies of the post-Klitskcho era, the other of course being Parker. Apples to oranges, here.

I wouldn't call Agit's resume "mega-thin." To me he has done enough to be a legit contender, but let's not get it twisted. Usyk has nothing at all to prove, and in terms of quality, which is what really counts, his record is already better than the brothers K, and arguably better than Bowe, or even Larry Holmes, who, after Norton and Witherspoon, really has little to impress.

 

In terms of depth in quality? Kabayel's is way thinner... Usyk beat the top two contenders twice each, plus another decent young contender - Kabayel beat an old man whose record is currently 3-3-1 against top-200 fighters, Chisora getting on for 8 years ago, a couple of massively overhyped guys and a load of absolute nobodies.

It depends, Kabayel could be tricky and he's something different... As far as "all wrong" goes, I'm just not sure - it's still entirely possible that there's a much bigger levels difference between them than most are acknowledging.

I would say it's the opposite... If Kabayel can't stop Usyk with his body shots early, Usyk will have him figured out and ineffective in a few rounds and with the increased pace he could be leaving Kabayel scrambling without an effective plan B as the pressure ratchets up.

It would be interesting... I don't mind seeing it happen, but Kabayel isn't really the most deserving yet and if Usyk is after legacy or money Kabayel isn't top of either list just yet (at the moment he's a classic flash in the pan - that might change, it might not).

 

Looks really slow and dumb. Mediocre power. Eats a lot of Kebabs.
I'd be surprised if he could beat old Usyk. Younger Usyk just dominates every moment.

 

Good posting even when i only partly agree . Yes , usyk,s victories over aj and fury were impressive , kabayel does not have victories over world title holders , i agree .

The rest of usyk,s legacy is nothing , in quality and quantity . Witherspoon , old 2020 chisora , kid version of dubois . Thats all . Its insane he with witherspoon and old chisora on his resume got a title shot vs aj at all !!!
And even more insane he got with 4 opponents at heavy the undisputed shot . Would probably never happened without his - non questionable - amazing achievements at CW and most probably also a truckload of donated money from war torn ukraine .

We cannot talk it away : Usyk,s resume at hw is in drastic constrast to the fact he is about to become a three times undisputed champion in two weight classes .

Kabayel has wins over a younger than usyk chisora , makhmudov , sanchez and an impressive win over zhang . Thats in any case enough to deserve a title shot and should usyk avoid him facing instead jake paul ... well .

it is possible . It is possible usyk would school and dismantle kabayel easily but first he needs to be man enough to face him ! Both kabayel and parker are willing , ready and deserving a fight vs usyk - its usyk who runs away .

And its not about money when we talk fighting jake paul .

While i agree a fight against paul might generate significant money , it will not generate even close to a title fight vs lets say parker at riyadh season .

 

Why is everyone trying to find a fighter who can beat Usyk? It’s as if they'll all feel relieved once the man loses.
