is it? I didnt mean it so, I thought some good young pros used this forum, who are big guys to boot.

Roy looks terrible. He couldnt lift his arms even way back as Calzaghe. SUrely some fit, skilled 20somethings here could give him a good run?

I would like to see Roy move back up to Heavyweight. He can fight Vitali Klitschko who is about the same age.

Balance and reflexes is the obvious difference. His hand speed is still incredible.....he just can't put them in bunches like he used to.

The man's Chin is so bad that he made a Polish bum with all of four KOs to his name look like a savage puncher. His legs are shot, his handspeed is gone, his power is gone, and most importantly his Glass Jaw is the same level of suck it always was throughout his career. He is a brutal KO waiting to happen, nothing more and nothing less.

    :deal

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Jones got floored by a feather-fisted noob. . . If that guy had just a wee bit more power (in the 6-8 KO out of 17 fight range), Jones' eyes would have been closed, and would have been KO'd in yet another country.

Even the poles felt so bad for him they robbed their hometown boxer of the win.

No, it's always been pure glass. . . Just took it some time to get exposed because he had such great reflexes. . .

And because he fought nothing but no-hopers and bums in between the Toney and Tarver fights. The guy got dropped on his ass by Feather Fisted Lou Del Valle, he never had a Chin. End of.

    No sorry...

Punch resistance declines just like any other physical attribute, Roy isn't the only case of this happening either, just probably one of the most extreme.

If his chin was always this bad, he would have been knocked out before going from MW to HW, as I have seen him take much harder punches than the ones that put him out now.

You can't honestly tell me, at 43 and looking dead in the ring, that his punch resistance has held up to what it always was..

Im not saying his chin was ever iron but decent enough in his younger years... What instances from his prime makes you believe his chin was glass?

Agreed. Thats what made him so effective at countering. Additionally, his reflexes have also declined. He used to see and anticipate the punches coming, roll with them just in time to avoid full impact. Nowadays he gets hit with a lot of punches and doesn't have the reflexes to avoid them like he once did.

    Quite right Sir,

Reggie Johnson, Virgil Hill, Montell Griffin, Eric Harding, and Ruiz were all no hopers wern't they? No hang on......

    You are a complete JOKE!

Woods = Garbage. (But he gave Glen 3 tough fights because... erm hang on.. erm Glen wasn't feeling well was he?)

Gonzalez = Mexican roadsweeper. (when he fought and beat DM, a year after HBO had offered DM $5m to fight Roy, DM was shot to **** right?)

Who the **** cares if he always had a bad chin?

I bet Roy cries himself to sleep every night, just wishing that he had Amir's chin!

If only Roy could take a punch, from that fighter that was similar to Earnie Shavers. What's his name? Erm? Hang on, erm? Limond that's him. Willie Limond!

Excellent observation. You could notice this in the first Tarver fight, where he was backing up in straight lines and covering up in a way he never used to do. His mastery at distance control was the key to his success in the ring, more so than the flashier aspects people saw from him. He still impresses me with certain adjustments he makes, like throwing the right hand to the body in the mid rounds of his last bout, but ultimately, he can't be the superior ring general, and without that, he's lost and vulnerable.
