Theres no point explaining to some people, especially the ****** who says Tyson of 88 was the same Tyson of 96-97 (Foreman Hook)

Yeah Tyson was full of fight once he'd been DQ'd and the fight was over.

Holyfield turned his back because the fight was done with,he had the win,his job was done and he's a professional.

It was hardly an act of cowardice especially considering Evander wanted the fight to continue so he could knock Tyson out.

Tyson made a **** of himself because he was again getting beaten at his own game (ie rough and dirty) and was going to be exposed to the whole world again as the lesser man to Holyfield.

All this bull**** about Mike fouling out because of headbutts is just a convenient excuse.Sure they clashed heads (whether intentional or not, remember Holyfield never even received a verbal warning for it) but Holyfield also showed himself to be physically stronger, composed under pressure, willing to return fire, dominant at a distance and wonderfully adept at tying Tyson up and thus tiring him out whenever Mike got into his punching range.

All of these factors imo played a part in Tyson's brain snap as he again knew the result was a foregone conclusion.

What I don't understand is why people still flock to Tyson's defense considering the monsterous act he subsequently committed, one of the lowest acts I've ever seen committed inside the ring.

headbutting doesn't compare to biting period.
and I don't think holyfield was running from Tyson, are you serious? mills lane called time, so holy walked away.
btw Tyson shouldve been disqualified after the first bite

At the end of the day HOLYFIELD made it dirty and Tyson reacted, im not saying i agree with what he did because theres no excuse for it. But in Tysons own mind he obviously thought he was righting a wrong.

Secondly after the first bite Tyson seemed the aggressor and Holyfield was backing off. In no way did Tyson seem intimidated by Holyfield after biting him.

Thirdly when he pushed him the fight was still going on. He bit him and then went to push him.

Tyson did snap but it wasnt due to fear, it was more due to frustration and Holyfields butting. Why didnt Tyson bite Douglas, Lewis, Williams or Mcbride? Douglas and Lewis beat the **** out of him more than Evander ever did.

If the fight carried on Holyfield still would have tired him out and beaten him

I disagree, I think Tyson was completely scared of holyfield. Watch the look Tyson gives early in round 1 with 2:20 left. Only 40 seconds into the fight and Tyson looks like he is fighting his dad.

Actually Holyfield won the fight, even quicker than he was going to. He got paid $35 million, went home, never whined about the ear thing and has never held a grudge. These things happen.

It was Tyson who paid the price.
I mean, up to that point most boxing fans were willing to ignore some of out-of-the-ring stupidity but after that fight Tyson became a mad caricature of himself, "Mad Mike", a lunatic, a walking timebomb. His career had become a freak circus act.
And he never came close to beating Evander Holyfield.

Pretty much how I feel. Tyson went thug AFTER he'd fouled horribly, maimed Holyfields ear and the ring was filling up, fight over. The push after the first fight? Its a push. So what. I've shrugged off a good hundred in my day without fighting back. Holyfield was probably more worried about the pain, blood, and the tip of his ear that was no longer on his head. Had Holyfield done the same to Tyson? We may have seen an Oliver McCall like nervous breakdown, and I'd bet Mills Lane or some random individual ring side would get hit in the face.

Brave, ready to fight? Its a thug posturing. After returning from his prison stay? Tyson had nothing, was sick of getting roughed up and messed up, and ended the contest.

Its like Duran saying No Mas, cept with one fighter completely out of his depth when the withdrawal occurred. Tyson was too past it post-prison to beat any version of Holyfield.

I think Holyfield still gets a stoppage against Tyson. Has for Lewis landing haymakers on Holy, while he did catch him a few times i would'nt say he really caught him clean or with one of his bombs.

Tyson was doing OK in that round up to the bite but I dont think he would have been able to sustain it.I think he may have won a few rounds but would have got tired as in the first fight and Holyfield would have regained control of the fight by the 8th.Holyfield by late stoppage or ud.

You see it the same way I do pretty much. In one of my earlier posts in this thread I predicted a Holyfield tko in the 9th.

Tyson trained a lot harder in the second fight. He also brought in a "real" cornerman in Giachetti. He was in good shape, and after getting nailed pretty good in the first round, he did well in the next two. He was throwing more combinations and seemed to be offsetting Holyfields holding a bit by turning him and walking him back.
I dont think Tyson would have tired out, because Holyfield wasnt really a busy fighter at this time. If anything he was going to be forced to fight a faster fight and was settling into a good one.
I just think Tyson got cut, didnt think he could win being cut up so he fouled himself out.
If he never thought he could beat Holyfield like so many people claim, why the hell would he even have taken the rematch in the first place?

Tyson should be applauded for biting Evanders ear - It is the first and only time I've seen him have some semblance of a plan B in the ring!

Tyson fans are a little amusing you got to admit. Kind of like the kid who gets his hand stuck in the cookie jar and says that he wasn't going to actually have any cookies.

I thought you were a Tyson fan? Are Tyson fans the only people who excuse his dispicable acts and all the rest are true real boxing fans?
