As far as I can tell, Golovkin has been ducked by at most two people: Sturm and N'Jikam. Aside from those two who he's linked up with thanks to the WBA's shenanigans, I don't see how one can make the case that he's been ducked by anyone else, much less everyone else. For the better part of two years he could not fight in most of the civilized world thanks to his Universum dispute, he has a weak professional resume, and as far as I know he hasn't even called anyone else in the division out save Sturm and N'Jikam, much less actually taken steps to make a fight. Even now Sturm still remains the top priority. Heck when Pirog's people mentioned a fight a few months ago it was Golovkin's manager who expressed disinterest.

  2. Gennady is gonna crush them all. Sergio is on his way out anyway. He's already old for this sport and how much longer will he be good? Pirog vs Golovkin would be a great HBO fight and it would end in a KO.

The problem is HBO doesn't want anything to do with Europeans or anyone else if they are not American or Mexican. There are a few exceptions, ofcourse, depending on who the promoter (TR or GBP) is.

Martinez has not been given the recognition by HBO and that is because he fights "often" there. Pirog and GGG won't be fighting on HBO/Showtime any time soon. That is what sucks about boxing! Middleweight could have some good matchups but if the networks aren't willing to put up the money and show the fight, we won't have a fight, well atleast here in the U.S. GGG, Pirog, Proksa, Sturm, Gaele, aren't promoted by TR or GBP so its more likely you won't see them fighting each other in the US at either HBO/Showtime UNLESS they fight Chavez Jr, Martinez, Quillin or Lee which I doubt.

I feel bad for GGG and Proksa. So much talent and potential but they're going to have a hard time getting match ups.

    Wake up hill billy.

After Jacobs-Pirog disaster it should be pretty clear even for the dumbest sob like you what is the name of the game. They will keep these Golovkins/Pirog fuk away from your hype job fighters and you can pretend to be the best.:deal

Yeah, noticed that too, it's a shame. He has one freaking boring personality though. Being humble in boxing can only get you so far. Nobody want's to see him.

    Any combination of:
    Pirog
    Golovkin
    N'dam
    Proksa

Ideally, give me a tournament with Pirog vs. N'dam and Golovkin vs. Proksa with winners facing off. I know it would probably be outrageous, but these are the things I would be looking to do if I were in charge of HBO or Showtime.

IMO GG is like a middleweight version of kostya tszyu but with a more punishing left added to the arsenal. He reached out to pretty much every other champ and has been knocked back. Even my favourite Danny Geale knocked him back last year and said possibly in a few more fights, too much risk for little reward publicity wise.

and almost pulled it off too. Always got a shot with power like Cooper had.

This is part of the problem. "fans" who seem to care more about their entertainment value outside the ring more than want they actually do inside it. They want a WWE wrestler like Haye with a loud mouth.

indeed, besides his tremendous power Golovkin also has that "boxing inteligence" !
tbh I would like to see a fight between Chavez jr and Golovkin because I can't stand Chav. jr who's a paper champ.
Goolvkin vs Sturm would be interesting even in Germany :) .
It would be great for Golovkin to have two or three shots with some top 10 fighters and then to go after Martinez !

The noises coming from Pirog's camp are that they're not looking at a Golovkin fight because HBO and Showtime aren't interested.

If US tv doesn't want to show a fight of this calibre, it's no wonder the sports in a sorry state. I realise neither guy is a star but don't you have some sort of responsibility to the fans and the sport itself, to make fights like this? I'm not saying they should put up $10m but don't just ****ing dismiss two of the best Middleweights in the world.
