Any Philly fight fans bere or general knowledgeable people with any info on the famous venue and boxing in Philly generally?

Why has it seemingly dissappared? There seems to be a lost tike where you would get consistent cards from the place which was a hot place in boxing at some point?
    Does the arena still exist?
    What happened?

I haven't driven past there in a long time. Far as I know it's still closed down. I've heard there trying to make it a historical site.

I believe the BH was closed because of back taxes.
In all honesty Philadelphia isn't the fight town it used to be. We obviously have Ennis who I personally feel is overrated. No more Fraziers or George Bentons gym. Hell I don't even know which gyms are around anymore. Perhaps someone younger than me from Phila can answer that. There is a very nice new gym in Bucks County that Joe Hand opened. Tim Witherspoon does some teaching there last time I messaged him.

    That is also my conclusion.
Why do you think that is?

Very good question. Could be that there aren't as many prominent gyms with experienced teachers.
