Well what are you going to do? Box Floyd? Floyd isn't going to come to you, at least not at welterweight and above. He's going to wait for you to come to him. How would you suggest that you beat him? If you box him, you're going to be in for a long and boring night that will no doubt be left up to the judges. On the other hand, if you're normally a pressure fighter, say Margarito for instance, and you attempted to box Floyd, Floyd probably would come foward (maybe), and would actually try to make the FIGHT.
Floyd took his jab away. Oscar didn't abandon his jab. Oscar just didn't jab enough to Floyd's body and became predictable with it. Floyd responded by throwing right hands or countering with his own jab. Oscar could have boxed Floyd, but it would have been one of the worst televised fights in history with neither fighter willing to engage. Considering it was such a high profile fight, it would have hurt boxing badly.
You guys kill me ... he hasn't come close to losing a fight ... and right now there isn't a clear blueprint on how to beat the guy. Fighters that have pressured him have been picked apart and as of late he's been beating good quality fighters at there own game. His inside fighting is great His body work is great His jab is great (he rarely uses it, but when he does its very effective) His right hand is great (he throws it from many different angles and different speeds, loop it over the top, throw it straight, hook it, uppercut, throw it behind the guard, through the center) He comfortable at every part of the ring ... you can see that in his fights and his training ... he's comfortable in the corner - against the ropes - in the center of the ring He has a good chin He takes punches well to the body (500-1000 situps a day) The man is also one of the smartest fighters in the ring ... he usually beats his opponents before they even step into the ring ... coming in better shape than them ... talking them out of their game ... he's rattled some of the calmest fighters. You can't deny the credentials and accomplishments ... and it makes some fighters mad because its the truth ... and some opponents say that he won't shut up either.
Until a fighter can take away the hard straight right counter Floyd won't be beaten. Most fighters expect a left counter from an orthodox puncher, but not the right followed by left.
Floyd has a good left hook as well and a good jab ... you would have to match him in ad******g during the fight. You take away his right hand then he uses the leaping left hook ... you take away the left hook ... he uses the jab ... you take away the jab ... he goes back to the lead right ... You fight on the inside, but leave yourself open ... he fights you on the inside and takes every opening you leave him. You have a shorter reach than him ... he pot shots you from the outside ... You're a pressure fighter ... he ties you up and throws you off rhythm and he will hit you to the body often ... either straight jab ... straight right ... or punches on the inside. You're a boxer ... he potshots you NO fighter right now can stop that jab to the stomach ... because once you get used to defending it, is when he throws that straight right over the top.
You are truly making the newbies more and more stupid...you know **** about boxing...name tony's 5 greatest victories cuz you all up on his dick:think
This is where you're not giving the fighter that you ADORE or LOVE or whatever it is that conveys you to write every thread about him, the respect that he deserves. There is a basic blueprint on how to beat Mayweather, it's just that no boxer so far has been able to implement it. That is a testament to Mayweather's ability, and the lack of fighters capable of challenging him OR Mayweather's inability to get in the ring with them. Mayweather isn't the first guy in the universe to use his particular style.
People ignore this fact far too much. He WAS completely willing to fight them all, and the money Arum would have had to agree to was not unreasonable.
And what blueprint is that exactly? Please tell me you are going to base your blueprint on a fight in which Floyd had a torn rotator cuff. Thats just ignorant. You're right. He's just the best at utilizing it.
no man is unbeatable. mosley had the speed and agression to overwhelm mayweather. if there one thinmg you will notice about pbf since moving up in wieght, its that he dosent throw a alot of punches meaning he can be outworked. mosley has enough talent to poull it off. but of course, floyd has to be the favorite. remember, you dont have to be a better figghter than your opponent to beat him, you just have to be better that paticular night.
:rofl:rofl:rofl You can tell when a person has never laced up a pair of glove in their pathetic life! I agree with you man..that has to be the dumbest **** I've ever heard of...Does the guy know that once he tries to punch at his shoulder he is going to get countered!
