Is this thread a joke? Those tactics play into his hands, Hatton and Mayweather promised all the pressure they could and achieved ****.

So with the poster's logic....the blueprint to beat pac is to punch him the stomach to KO him cuz he is weak to the body....lmao....the logic with Castillo doesn't work anymore because its been so long ago....just like how pac's body isn't a liability anymore... :deal:

Mostly I agree with your analysis. The blessing and in this case the curse of the "pressure" strategy is that it almost relies on the boxer to mess up. That may be in mental focus, technical focus, or conditioning. In any case it almost requires for the boxer to mess up. Also for the brawler to eat tons of shots. With any other boxer I agree. The problem is that FMJ doesn't slip.

I guess you could say that Zab had the TRUE blueprint. Unfortunately, Zab can't stay focused and "fresh" more than 4-6 rounds. (He is my main man though!)

So yes I think this is probably the best way to win for most guys, I just don't see anyone (Margacheato?) with the physicality, conditioning, or chin to pull it off.

Pressure is NOT "come in swinging wildly with your chin up".

Yep! A top conditioned and focused Zab Judah would give Mayweather fits. That was a great fight!

Then how should you fight him? Box him? That's like saying box against a prime Roy Jones Junior.

You need to apply intelligent pressure against Floyd, not reckless aggression.

I have no doubt about it that pressure is the key...
It's just that the way it is applied and how you go about it is quite important.

A guy like Hatton just lunges inside and unloads wildely = problems all the time against a master like FMJ.

Pressure is important to keep the fight on the inside, once there it takes great skills to exploit that position. Once on the inside, you need lots of speed to keep FMJ mainly concentrating on his defence.

Therefore pressure alone doesn't make you beat PBF, but when it's well applied, it puts you in a position to do so, if you have the skills to back it up !

What do you mean, why? Did your read what I wrote? Being pressured is the one thing we've seen Floyd struggle to deal with!

I know what you mean... but its possible to be controlled in aggression & STILL be on his ass the whole time, like what Chavez did to Rosario & Camacho, I think that style has a good chance of working on Floyd - tho, not any mug could do it, it would take a JCC to pull it off.

How stupid so much people can be. Cotto can last 10 round to mayweather. Cotto is a crappy boxer who eats all the punches that you launched, that has no stamina and does not have technique. Fast hands and good power punching is not equal to a technical boxer. Also he is not strong taking body punches and mayweather will be hitting him in the body all night. Cotto was badly hurt with Paquiao, but Paquiao was exhausted and did not has the technique to kill him early. Cotto can't run to Floyd and can't also fight with him. And last how ignorant and blind a person can be using the Castillo fight for a blueprint, when mayweather has a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder before the fight start. A guy that has a lesion is incapable of fight at the level that he needs, and with all that Floyd beat him. Why this losers of the Castillo crap, why they dont use the second fight as a blueprint?? Why?? When Floyd was healthy, the guy used the same technique and falls badly. The only technique to beat Floyd is a lucky punch or the pass of time. At the time pass on he could beat a Fresh and younger Cotto at his 100 years. Dont be stupid, dont be blind. Paquiao is a great boxer and it's pretty hard that he can beat Mayweather. He can do it, but that did not say that Mayweather is a crappy fighter. Floyd is the most complete fighter that the boxing has known. he can fight at any style and be the better boxer. Cotto don't fight. he take punishment innecessary, and that is not a good boxer. That leaves a lot to be desire for a good boxer. A good boxer punch and dont get punch. Cotto punch and takes a lot of punishment of whatever boxer you put in front of him, a classfighter or a journeyman, both put all the punches they want in Cotto. Did you se Cotto Gomez fight??? Cotto ends the fight with a broken mouth and this guy cant hit 2 punches in 10 ruound if you pit him against Floyd. The Cotto fans are mute and after Mayweather beats Paquiao i will come here to see what are the new excuses.
