Straight right to the body takes his legs away.
A solid jab gives him something to think about.
Half steps away at angles change the dynamic of the exchange and expose his poor foot positioning and intelligence.

I don't remember Juan doing much of this? It was apart of Erik's method.

Apologies, just answering the thread about Morales, not mentioning Juan.

Marquez used the left hook to the body to set up right hands up stairs.

Agreed :smoke Factor in certain fighters also being bigger and quicker than Morales. Doesn't look good for Pacquaio does it.

Let me state this very simply. On the night Morales decisioned Manny Pacquiao, had his name been Juan Manuel Marquez and not Erik Morales, it would have been Pacquiao's hand being raised that night!

Good thing for Team Pac, there's still this issue to sort out for Floyd:

Negated. Pacquaio's speed on the way in will be his undoing. Cotto got through thanks to calculated timing mate.

You think his speed will make him less likely to land? I think Pacquiao's timing is markedly better when his opponent isn't in constant motion. I think Floyd stands still in his stance enough enough to get caught. Maybe not enough to get knocked down or hurt or even lose enough rounds, but it only takes one or two hard flashy ones to land in 7 rounds to impress the judges enough for a victory. In fact, while Cotto was calculated throughout, the moments where he switched southpaw to land the straight left were spontaneous as Floyd was moving straight backwards. (I had the perfect GIF to complement that thought, but the ****ers have somehow taken them all down.)

The Pac of today is about 30% more effective than the one Morales beat.

Yes Morales had weight issues after the first fight and lost his legs but tbf to Manny he went to the body more in the 2 & 3 fights and used his right hand more. Thus the sneaky right hook counter stepback is born!

Morales still won a few rds of the last few fights despite being at his worse which shows how great Morales is aswell as the first fight. Great trilogy(well it has a lot to learn from and you can see improvements from Manny of the 1st to the on of the last two fights) and both men had courageous efforts.

JMM had the easiest time with Manny in his third fight compared to Morales of the first Manny fight and both are the only fighters to beat Manny of recent times. TMores took much more punishment though but I thought he won wide too but it was a competitive fight unlike JMM-Pacq 3. Takes a lot of focus and skill to beat Pacman and both displayed clinics imo in the two fights I mentioned. JMM/Manny II was competitive but I thought JMM won wide while the first could've gone either way bcuz of kd's and how you scored the last 4 rds. Like I said Manny is skilled for only losing to two of the best technicians of FW in recent times while he was prime.

Don't completely agree with this vid though it does show Pacquiao's improvements with the right hook counter I was speaking of earlier. Would love to see a well nourished Morales against this more refined Pacq though I think the outcome would've been the same.
