The blueprint to beat Manny Pacquiao was laid down by ERIK MORALES

Ultimately, Judah couldn't maneuver away from Floyd's pressure, and Manny couldn't escape the pressure from Morales. Looking at how Cotto moved side to side and avoid being cornered by Mayweather, could Manny do the same and circle out to avoid getting pushed back? I think he'd have an easier time attempting that with Floyd than with Morales.

Also, we've talked before about going "the other way." I found it interesting when re-reading a translation of Marquez's after the third Manny fight, where he says he tried multiple times to get outside on Pac's left hand side, but that Manny would just take the angle away.

No, Morales beat Pacquiao clearer then the 3 times Marquez beat Pacquiao.

I rank Cotto(e)'s reverse gear higher than emmanuel's. Do you have any particular round of Floyd-Cotto(e) I should check out to see Miguel demonstrate his foot movements? I have the 6th in mind, but my memory is fuzzy. I only watched the fight fully twice.

Southpaws that are naturally counterpunchers like Pernell, Sexy Sergio, Zab, etc are best suited to try Floyd imo.

I remember reading an interview after the Maidana fight where Morales was talking about how Floyd Sr had taught him a few things he never really used till the end of his career I wonder what specifics he was on about :think

Tijuana was using the check hook to reclaim his left flank and escape the ropes against emmanuel. Sometimes he would use his left shoulder as a shield while he was exiting the ropes. I watched the fight again yesterday and thought he was Black for a moment.

I only have Morales-Pacquiao II and III but I guess I get what you guys are sayin... Even though Pacquiao has improved and we all must admit that he has in polishing up his attacks, putting punches together and be aware of his defense while he's on offense - I do understand that a left jab over the right shoulder of a shorter southpaw is a consistent start to a gameplan since lead left hooks or step in first with right hands inside and down the pipe means that you get off first and that does not make a whole lot of sense against a relentless puncher and a very light feet mover, in and out and in again, but I guess that Timothy not being able to jab over his right shoulder or lead left hook him without squaring himself up, he definitely can damage Pacquiao's and Roach plan, both by reducing his volume of punches, pace and connect rate by sneaking in, landing the right hand and simply breaking the action systematically...

Accidental headbutt in the 4th, blood draining and winning gloves?

I think I do too; 6th is also what I'm thinking, I've only watched it twice myself. He had success throwing combinations against the ropes, then spent the rest of the round bouncing around. I think it's the same round he threw that improvised left hook in after a missed right hand off an angle.

The movement I'm referring to is what Manny showed against Margarito. Floyd is more efficient and deliberate with his footwork, but he's not as voluminous or consistent or overbearing. If Floyd tries to press, I wouldn't be surprised to see Manny turn him and try to establish an ambush rhythm.
