Anthony Joshua is a power punching stiff with 0 head movement and no gas, just like George Foreman, although at least Foreman had a good chin, decent iq and could cut the ring off Would the cross armed guard help Anthony Joshua like it did Foreman ? It's hard to utilize, but do you think it would be a beneficial tool for him stylistically or something else ? It just came to my mind. I actually think it would because Joshua doesn't have the best head movement and it could use bring the guard up to cope with his lack of head movement everytime a punch comes his way
I honestly thought he moved pretty well there for a big heavyweight and looked a lot better than he did against Povetkin only three years ago. He looked bad because Usyk is simply leagues ahead. It's like watching a video at 2x speed (which I tend to) and then coming back to 1x speed: it seems so slow, everyone is talking so slow and moving so sluggish, even though it's normal speed. It's all relative.
Joshua should just bulk up to 265 and put it on Usyk early. He has no chance if he decides to play chess with the boxing Einstein that is Usyk. None It's do or die.
Stamina is the problem. if he don't land something big in the first 6 rounds, he will be KO'ed Would he risk it like that ? Another lose with KO ? I think not. Another UD is at least bearable in the eyes of AJ casuals.
Foreman knew how cut the ring and drop bombs on small mobile guys. Joshua's problem isn't movement or gas it's lack of testicles.
It is a roll of the dice for sure but @MarkusFlorez99 is correct, what other strategy does he have, that could realistically AND dramatically change the outcome from the first fight?
(Although I suspect AJ won't do this anyway because, more than chin, he lacks the mental toughness after the Ruiz I fight to commit to a strategy that relies on finding the early KO)
Aj has very good body/head movement, it's just that Usyk is elite level, and no matter how good your head/body movement is, you are going to get punched. AJ would have do great against anyone else tho. Usyk just have that elite speed, technique, feints and is very accurate. Even tho that Usyk is past his prime. If that was prime Usyk from 2018 against Gassiev, Joshua would still be in a hospital right now, recovering from hard hard KO.
'Brilliant AJ'... under your name? Is that reference to the guy constantly shouting that during the fight, despite the fact Joshua was being slowly dismantled? That made me laugh too....
