We had some awesome matchups in 2007. 2006 was the year for the UFC and MMA in 2007, Boxing hit back hard and easily beat MMA

Now has boxing shot it's load ? can it duplicate the number of appealing matchups in 08 ?

Nope dont think So this year 2007 defined champions like mayweather n this year is gunna be miss matchs in hatton - de la hoya, calzaghe vs hopkins , more publicity style matchs than true fights like mayweather hatton n calzaghe kesler where it was a hard fight for both fighters

Yeah, I'm sure boxing fans will be flocking to see a past his best Winky-Wright in action...

David Haye is the man to carry boxing forward

You are watching with the blinkers on though...

I don't give a **** about Winky-Wright, but I respected him as a fighter that took on anybody, and did it the hard way. However he's lost the sharpness he once had. I would be keen to see him back at a reasonable weight though, to confirm my suspicions

not really much of a PPV seller is he winky wright

n i am a big fan of his talent a excellent defensive figther but he just lost his spark, pavlik would be taking a down step if he fought him

    Aye, spark

He's definitely not the fighter he was. He doesn't have the same movement. He looks like he has concrete in his boots in comparison to when he was at his peak

He can still be a force at LMW if he can get down to that, it's a poor division. Dunno about being a down step for Pavlik, who is an extremely flawed fighter, Wright could very easily school him

i really think Winky Wright will beat Pavlik. Styles make fights. And Winky will outbox Kelly and won't be knocked out, imo.

Look how much difficulties pavlik had with zertuche

depends, if pbf faces cotto then i'd like to think that 2008 will be better than 2007

Pavlik vs Wright. An average slugger with no defence at his peak, against a classy boxer with a supreme jab and defence but is probably over the hill

    I still like Wright

but yes, 2008 can be better.

    Pavlik Taylor II
    JMM Pacquia
    Klitschko Iggy
    Peter Vitaly
Hopefully followed by Peter Wlad ( that would be BIG )
    Calzaghe Hopkins
    Cotto Delahoya
followed by Cotto Mayweather ( that would be BIG )
Still hoping for J. Diaz Katsidis
hopefully folowed by J. Diaz Pacquiao ( that would be a great fight ).
And maybe the winner fight Hatton, if hatton wins his next fight ( that would be BIG )
Taylor Pavlik winner vs Abraham or Winky.
oh i forgot, Vazquez Marquez III !!!!
Haye fighting for a HW title, which would be BIG
Pavlik Duddy, can be a great fight

yes if the right fights are made, 2008 can be better.

You know which fight i wanna see, doubt it happens, Williams Mosley

Naa Kelly Pavlik is starting to become more of a force in boxing , getting more experiencen , winky is a good boxer but not great neither is Pavlik but i just feel he would hve more to give winky than winky could give to pavlik
if you look at what they hve to offer the other

Winky is past his best, and demanded 6 million for a calzaghe fight , pavlik would challenge anybody within his weight and love to see him take on winky! but it wont be much of a PPV hype like Calzaghe , Hopkins or even Tito Trinidad n RJJ will make more money than this fight!

That's a very wishy washy analysis

Fact is, Pavlik's defence is dreadful, the whole world knows it. More so than his chin, he wasn't on ***** street against Taylor just because of his chin, it was because he takes so many flush shots

Wright is far more precise than Taylor. Pavlik is going to be eating so many punches, that it virtually rules out a points win. Wright has a pretty good chin, so that is why I favour him. Pavlik has never been in the ring with anybody of Wright's class, Taylor is poor

well ive only seen a few Kelly Pavlik Fights so cant really go into detail about how impressive he is compared to winky wright , but with a quick analysis on both fighters

Pavlik - Strong main asseit is moving oppenents on back foot against ropes and start landing blows where evre he can
Winky - Defense Main asseit , with a slight reach advantage , a good techinque of evading fighters punchs and using a counter to his ability
Pavlik - Youth on his side - eager to impress against his biggest name opponent would go all guns blazzing trying to impress, he would try and prove that to himself that he can do it!
Winky - with experience on his side he will use many different ways in which to break Pavliks all out aggressive style, while countering

I belive if winky can keep him on the ropes then he has got him and maybe take him down in the later rounds but if winky can stay off the ropes and move round causing frustration i see a winky wright points victory
