Good fighter Joe but who did he really beat, he had the sort of style and speed that could be negated by great timing, trouble is, he never fought anyone with that sort of quality. I believe a prime Jones would have made mincemeat out of him, Toney probably as well.

He was better than most people Jones beat and better than everyone that Toney beat, Toney didn`t beat anybody at super-middle that could have troubled Calzaghe and McCallum wasn`t a natural super-middle, I feel Calzaghe would have beaten McCallum and Nunn at super-middle.

He’s nowhere near as good as McCallum and Calslappy would be victimised by Jones, Bernard and Toney at there bests

McCallum was no super-middle, Hopkins would have been far better at 168 than him, he and Calzaghe would have been a very tight, cagey fight.

Fine, throw McCallum in at whatever weight you think is his best let him give up 10-15lbs for all I care and he’d toy with Cal.

The more weight McCallum put on the slower he was, his body looked far better at 154, he was unproven against world class fighters at 168.

Have you seen Maira Moneo? She doesnt stop punching either and is much better looking than Joe Calzaghe!

Yeah definitely. Plus, she lacks power and gets hit a lot. BUT, action-wise, I think of her as the "Arturo Gatti of women's boxing" right now. I saw her fight last night and her bouts never cease to amaze me!

Joe was never a better fighter than Mike McCallum.

Yes, I don’t think any of Toney’s SMW opponents would have beaten Joe. But they could possibly have troubled him.

I’d have liked to have seen Joe fight Iran Barkley and Tim Littles.

Nunn was slightly faded at SMW, but still a great fighter.

Nunn vs Joe would have been very intriguing to me. Especially as we never saw Joe fight an elite level southpaw.

Mike obviously never fought as a SMW. But he still had his skills at LHW-CW in his late 30’s.

I have to believe that if Mike had’ve moved up to SMW in the early 90’s, that he could have made an impact.

A Joe vs Mike fight is hard to predict.

Joe obviously had the speed and the workrate, but Mike was a true, old school technician.

He’d have been the most skilful fighter that Joe had faced.

An early 90’s version of Mike was better than the version of Hopkins who Joe fought.

Bernard would have been a great SMW.

I would have loved to have seen those fights.

I don’t think he’d have been victimised, but they would all have been very intriguing.
