forget promoters and trainers and everyone else. The 3 boxers keeping the sport of boxing alive and well right now (whether you love or hate them) are Pretty Boy Floyd Money Mayweather, GGG and Zou Shiming. you may say that others deserve more credit or you prefer other boxers but these 3 ARE boxing.
    Be Thankful

and if he can beat a 'name' then Deontay Wilder will join that list

    :good

Pacquaio's contribution to keeping it alive is obviously greater Floyds still as Pacquiao's 4 year run of fights was more entertaining to watch, however the Canelo fight helped a lot. Maybe before Floyd retires he'll have more like that

Pac isnt relevant unless associated with Floyd and i love both of them equally. But on his own Pac is now known for being robbed against Bradley and sparked out cold by JMM.
But yeah ok maybe Andre Ward could be on that list but waiting for him to fight is like waiting for chinese democracy

I'm not really a Floyd fan, but it's hard to deny he has the greatest crossover appeal of any boxer alive. There is a problem with Floyd though in that he helped sustain an atmosphere in the sport where one 'superstar' generates a hugely disproportionate amount of both revenue and wider public interest in boxing. What's gonna happen when Floyd retires?

I guess the networks will create another 'superstar' again, instead of trying to promote the sport as a whole. I understand the business rationale, but dislike how the whole sport seems to be so focused on one or two 'annointed' fighters.

And (bizarrely given the inclusion of Shiming on his list), the TS seems to make the mistake of assuming that US boxing is all boxing. The sport is becoming ever more globalised, and with the growing interest in the potentially vast east Asian market, this trend is accelerating.

There is already a thriving Japanese scene, has always been a European scene which has expanded vastly with the addition of the Eastern European states, and a vibrant and growing African scene, all of which would continue to flourish even if boxing were suddenly banned in the US. Boxing ain't dying, or even close. The only thing we would lose without the 'celebrity fighters' we have become used to is the need to pay for massively overpriced PPVs.

I would love to see more guys like Gabriel Rosado. ''Good boy'' fights anyone. He took the fight against Golovkin when he had a choice to go easier way with K9 fight. And in my opinion he would have KTFO K9 (and be a champ) but he wanted to challenge himself even more harder.

    Respect.

boxing is alive and full effect always for me so idc.

floyd and manny had boxing world buzzing when they were both during there thing and the fight didnt happened really turned people off and away from the sport
