It seems like many people are wondering about equipment in boxing. Here, you can share your knowledge with your experiences, or make an inquiry. Here are some good sites:

I have developed a system for reviewing an item and each criteria would be marked out of 5.

Effectiveness - How well said item does its job
Style - You need to look good don't you?
Durability - No point buying something which will last 5 minutes
Cost - Last but not least.

    Well, I'll start.

    Adidas Tygun boxing boots

I adore these boots. Lightweight and very comfortable, it will have you glide across the ring. The suede at the front gets dirty easily however. Offers great protection to the ankles and isn't too stiff.

Effectiveness - 4/5. Does what it says on the tin.
Style - 5/5. I love the classic style with the suede and leather.
Durability - 3.5/5.Seems quite durable, but the sole is wearing away.
    Cost - 4.5/5. £30.00 on ebay? result!

    More to come

Very comfortable, well padded and suitable for both bag and sparring. Adjustable elastic Velcro strap, comes in 8oz - 14oz. Artificial leather, so easy to get rid of the blood ;) and gel injected so the cushion will last.

Effectiveness 4/5 - A good glove, not so soft that you are hitting with pillows and not so hard that it feels like concrete. Protects your hand well, you'll have to hit pretty hard to feel the object on your knuckles
    Style 3/5 - meh
Durability 4/5 - Created with durability in mind. All stitching is doubled. Not sure how well the gel will hold up tho, only time can tell.
Cost 5/5 - £28.00 on sugar rays. That's a deal, that's a steal, that's the sale of the ****ing century!

    ADIDAS 'ADISTAR' PRO HEAD GUARD

    Sigh, quite a disappointment.

Effectiveness 2/5 - Dose not offer much protection in comparison to other head guards
    Style 3.5/5 - Looks alright I suppose
    Durability 4/5 - It's tough, I'll give it that
    Cost 4/5 - At around £50.00, it's quite cheap for a headguard.

Good Thread. Can you comment on your no foul protector. This always gets overlooked.
