bring back 15 rounders. even a "overtime 13th" round in case of draws would help a lot.

Why would they pop up, it doesnt happen in other sports tennis for example has a dominant player in Roger Federer but i dont see other players playing under different sanctioning bodies because they cant beat him.

Why do you think there are so many sanctioning bodies now? The WBA/WBC split in the 70's, then the IBF popped up in 1983, then the WBO in 1988. Even golf has other tour circuits besides the PGA tour. The only way to stop other sanctioning bodies from becoming prominent would be if there were a situation where fighting for 1 sacntioning body would result in fighters making alot more money than other sanctioning bodies. This is the situation in Tennis(there are still other circuits besides the WTA)

Given that fightes are basically independant contractors, I don't see how there could be a situation where fighting for one sanctioning body would result in much higher financial rewards than another sanctioning body. THe WBA/WBC/IBF tried to stop the WBO from becoming prominent by not allowing their fighters to unify with the WBO. Of course, fans complain about this but at the same time complain about all the sanctioning bodies.

I would decapitate all the current judges and start from scratch. Make them graduate from some kind of strict course before they can judge a fight.

The way the other sanctioning bodies have become mainstream are by the others being run so poorly i think if you could start boxing again the people who snaction the belt were also the people who handed out the licenses it would cut out other organisations!

commentators and press row should not be allowed to announced their own scores during a fight but only after the official scores are read. commentators should only report on what is actually happening in the fight (play by play) and not give opinions on who won the round, who threw more punches, who landed more, etc.

it would also help if compubox does round by round stats instead rather than just over-all fight stats but this should only be shown after the announcement of the judges' scores. but i'm in favor of banning compubox altogether since it's simply not accurate in judging the actual outcome of fights. it just counts punches and doesn't take into consideration other important aspects when judging a fight.

For the most part everyone has already posted what I thought would be good changes (15rds. Judges, etc). So I'll go a different route. How about putting Championship Fights back on your basic tv networks again? It would really help the sport grow again with the general public (non boxing fans). You'd be surprised how many people still don't have basic cable in this day an age.

I somewhat agree with this. Stamina becomes too important. But surely we should have an odd number of rounds. How about 13?

Some ******* is gonna say it's "unlucky" just watch........:D

Four judges on all four sides of the ring and make the ref a scoring Ref. Total five judges . . . and make the fights a 13 rounds fights not 12.

Only one huh? Championship/Tittle fights sechuled for 12 rounds with a 3 round overtime in the event of a draw after 12 rounds if a draw after 15 rounds the fight is ruled a draw.
