Hey, it's quite a reasonable opinion. Weinert bested the likes of Firpo, Sharkey, Meehan, Coffey etc.
BTW, has any 18 year old been more prodigious?

 

Maher boxed on when old and alcoholic but at his best from 1890-1900 he fought the best black and white, probably as many rated fighters as anybody and lost to just Fitz and Goddard. He avenged the Goddard loss and went within an ace of ko'ing Fitz(an early bell?). He beat Slavin, Hall, Klondike, a peak Choynski, Godfrey, McAuliffe, Klondike, CC Smith, Ruhlin, Kennedy, O'Donnell, Jeffords, Dunkhorst etc and in his time was rated a bigger hitter than either Fitz, Sharkey or Choynski. In his draw with Sharkey, he probably had the edge.
I rate Jack Sharkey more than most but he was a tiny bit chinny and Maher could hit like a mule.
