Their amazing. Their record speaks for themselves, they know the game inside out and have done a fantastic job for the community. I've met Brendon a couple of times and he seemed a lovely fella. The sons seem arrogant as ****. Could be wrong but thats my initial impression but I don't really know them- could have caught them on a bad day etc.

Richard Towers 2-0. Don't rate him that highly to be honest just yet.

Naseem Hamed spoke negatively of the Brendan Ingle gym when he left though. He said that since he was just a kid he just did the same routines and circuits as every other kid that walked through the door. And that never changed even when he got to be a world champion. When he left he said only then did he start training properly - conditioning and nutrionist, etc, etc.

Yes - you would never teach your kid to box like a Ingle fight because it would be all wrong. That style is just is asking for disater.

I heard Ingle gets the kids to go in the ring and sing songs in front of all the other fighters to improve confidence, etc.

Thats the kind of bollocks that I would have no time for. You can improve your confidence by training hard having good sparring and building experience by fighting often. If you want to sing songs go to a Karokee competition.

There seems to be too much bollocks about their training methods for me.

As soon as he left them he declined in skill so they must have done something right.

Yes - maybe he just meant in terms of condtioning work and nutrion etc,
For example I heard when he was with Ingle he never did any road work, etc. And I dont even know if he done any ground work like - press ups, pull ups, sit ups, etc. I was under the impression his main training was just pads and sparring and he negelected other things and had a poor diet.

Naz has more talent but is it not plausable that with the right focus and love for boxing that Kell Brook could go on to do more than Naz?

I can't stand the Ingle style.

Yes, some cracking fighters have come out of that gym, but what if they had been trained 'properly'? Take Naz for example; here we had a guy who from an athletic sstandpoint was one of the finest that I have ever seen - awesome power, reflexes that would match up to anyones, unbelievable balance, solid chin, very good speed etc. What if a 7 year old Naz had walked into the kronk gym and dedicated his life to learning the sweet science 'properly'? With the physical attributes he brought to the table, alongside a fundamentaly sound style, Naz would be talked about today in a much higher regard than he currently is.

We could look at one of my favorite fighters - Jon Thaxton. Jono is a great guy, as professional and hard working as they come, his whole approach to boxing and training is absolutely first rate. My problem is that he is held back by the Ingle style. Jono has got a real crack on him, good chin etc. Again, if he boxed in a fundamentaly sound style, he would be a far better boxer than he is. You could even say the same about Witter.

Ingle's gym didn't produce great fighters - potentially great fighters made ingle's gym imo.

I hate this stupid stupid STUPID style,it only works against the not so good fighters,Naz is the perfect ad for this, soon as he fought a top quality fighter with the time honoured style who dident let that bull**** bamboozle him he had his arse handed to him.It allso only works while you are at your absolute peak/young and while your fresh, soon as your reflexes slow, even just by a little or your tired and slower its in invitation to be KNOCKED THE **** OUT.And as a rule allmost every fighter Ive seen with this style is a complete twat too.

For me he Ingle style is like barbecuing. Once in a blue moon it's absolutely superb, but you wouldn't want to do it every day and you certainly wouldn't waste a prime 16 Oz sirloin on it.

I think alot of fighters now have the Ingle style figured out. During the early years of Herol Graham and then Naseem Hamed alot of fighters would be bamboozled by a style they had never encountered before - but people know what to expect now.
