Yet again he showed that 12 rounds is nothing for him and this was a good sparring session for greater things to come. He claimed he wants to fight asap in his interview and we should be looking forward to his next 3 possible opponents which include Povetkin, Thompson, or possibly Chagaev
At the kind of pace he fought at, 24 rounds would be nothing. He proved nothing about his horrible stamina. Ibragimov didn't make him work at all.
i believe the sam peter fight was a much better example of how good wladimir's stamina is. what ever you might think of peter, he certainly is tough, and he kept coming forward despite the hard shots he took every round. wladimir never rested against the ropes once. pretty impressive for a 6'6 well built fighter. usually the bigger fighters slow right down after a couple rounds. the sultan fight was not much, therefore his stamina never really got pushed. but as i said, the peter fight showed his stamina is perfectly normal.
There are not many fighters out there who can hang in there AND pressure him for 12 rounds. If you put pressure on WK you might win, but you might as well get KTFO... It takes two to tango.
But Sam peter did and wlads went full 12 unloading every kind of punch in his arsenal so what were u sati g about stamina? I would rather a fighter be accurate and land while conserving energy then be like povetkin who throws non stop but hits glove 80% of the time, not only does that diminish his accuracy but reduces the credibility of his power
Alright there mr. I will hate on wlad even if he wins with one hand by the time of his next fight you will forgotten about this ne and will find something new to complain about or hate
So you're saying that no one should complain that he was afraid to unload the right hand? You see it one way, others (including myself) see it another. Why do you care so much? He won and unified 2 of the belts. That's an accomplishment. To pretend he can't do better is not giving Wlad much credit.
What makes you think I hate? it's just that I have seen sparring sessions that have excellent action.
I think Wlad's past stamina problems were due to poor fight strategy (punching himself out) and he has already proven he can go a number of rounds. It was impressive how he can be in the ring with a top heavyweight and barely get hit. That being said it was nothing short of one of the worst fights I've seen period. (and I watched Guinn Harrison). It was sad for the division that both guys were fighting not to lose instead of going for the ko. This was the most meaningful fight in the heavyweight division since Lewis Vitali and it was a major disapointment for the sport.
I'm still not sold on the stamina issue because (last night's fight aside) while Wlad is throwing a lot of punches, 70-80% of them tend to be jabs. It's the hooks, crosses and uppercuts that take it out of you more than the jabs, naturally. However, it may be a moot point - because there aren't a lot of guys out there that can take a full barrage of power shots from Wladimir for several rounds, to see if he wears down. Puritty and Brewster being the only exceptions to date.
Well Peter did, even though he was hurt at the end. HIs chin is now in question because of the McCline fight.
