He was good, but tends to be overrated just because he gave Floyd a rough night.

There's a lot to admire about prime JLC.Shame you can't have a reasonable discussion on him.

if you look st his career, he did more then just give floyd a rough night. he fought and beat top guys at 135 like stevie johnston, joel casamayor, diego corrales(though the rematch had the weigh-in fiasco). and he beat julio diaz, same guy who gave kahn hell two days ago.

Extremely underated fighter. He is one of my favorite boxers of all time. One of the few boxer who have the complete package in terms all ranges, power, and ring smarts. Of the trio of Erik, Barrera, and castillo before JMM joined the group. He is definitely the best fighter of the three.

Castillo beat Mayweather more clearly than Marquez beat Pacquiao in the second fight.

Nah... he had two close victories over Casamayor and Stevie Johnson (who, at the time, was regarded as a elite fighter, but he didn't accomplished much afterwards), those are his biggest victories. The rematch with Corrales was OK, but Corrales was clearly past it (maybe Castillo, was past it too, but he surely was in better shape than Chico).

He's an excellent fighter, don't get me wrong. But i saw some people saying he would stop prime Miguel Cotto. Come on, that's just plain stupid.

he really tends to get overrated because of the first Mayweather fight.

If people could just stick to the legitimately good wins he has and not try to make out that he has a victory over Floyd, then it'd be a lot better

Neither Marquez or Castillo beat Pacquiao and Mayweather in those fights.

Castillo should've won the first fight with chico which the ref gave chico every break in the world. Chico deliberately spit out his mouth piece twice, he should've been dqed. Not to mention the slow 16 sec count for chico to recover.
