Name: Felix Diaz Record: 8-0 (5) Overview: Despite being short for the weight at 5''5 this gold-medal winning, Dominican welterweight has already displayed tendencies that many fighters well beyond his years could only wish for. He has a maturity about him, he isn't over-eager to impress and sets about his work at this early stage of his career as he intends to do throughout. His lack of height has been made irrelevant by his superb timing, which has been displayed in fights where he has scored knockouts out of nowhere when it looked set to go the distance. After having fights in Europe and North/Central America, expect to be hearing a lot more of the calculated 27 year old in the coming years. Last Fight: A technical decision win over the tough but extremely limited Edinson Garcia, a relatively good win for a fighter in what was only his 8th professional fight. Who Do You Want Him To Fight Next: Frustratingly, Yuriy Nuzhenko(of Matt Hatton fame) pulled out of their fight set for the 26th of this month, which would have been a great win for Diaz. Undefeated Andrey Berdyshev has stepped in, after that, who knows? Getting Nuzhenko in the ring would be excellent for his development. Potential: Very likely to be an excellent but unknown and underappreciated fighter in the coming years, but his country, his handlers and myself expect big things, which I believe he will acheive.
