Fair enough, but why do we only have to start respecting him when he fights a British fighter?

He's been an awkward cookie for years.

    Very true.

I respected him before, just as i do now, only more so.

Blame David Haye for fighting him and bringing such a fighter to my mind, that i learnt that little bit more.

I agree. Ruiz will rough Haye up and score a come-from-behind victory in the late rounds. Don't be surprised if Ruiz is dropped once early in the fight. Ruiz will also be way behind on points by the mid rounds. Increasingly, though, Ruiz will get close enough to clinch and wrestle, and Haye's strength will sap. It will come out also that Haye isn't durable enough to withstand Ruiz's best punches.

Ruiz by TKO in the tenth or eleventh round. An exhausted Haye will visit the canvas once or twice before the referee rescues him.

 Great effort tonight by John, I didnt believe this 'new style' crap before the Haye fight, but he proved me wrong, tried to make a great fight and tried to win.

Ruiz earned my respect tonight, fair play to him - he is made of stern stuff and is full of balls.

He certainly played a full part in this fight. Some of the shots he took were wholesome. He is a tough old bugger who came to fight.

Do you think that our US cousins will have a reciprocal thread? I nipped into the playpen (GF) earlier and they were in full flow with their BS.
