We might have seen some of the fights that have happened, but I feel Froch would be on the outer, Kessler would be the European in with a hunt, rather than both.

Bute would probably have been beaten by now too.

I think Benitez would always be a hard night for Duran, (and vice versa) whoever was most focused on the night would win.

What if Beeston could appreciate the ring craft & artistry of Floyd?

 

I'll appreciate it when he proves itagainst sufficient calibre of opponent.

 

I've no idea.... I'm not sure any fighter could have dealt with Hagler in that kind of form to be honest.

Hearns maybe should have known that Hagler could take his punches and fought accordingly, but when you've a man possessed on your chest from the first bell there's little choice but to plant the feet and swing.

I love one of his facial expressions when Hagler is on his chest and he's landed three rights in a row and they've done nothing, as if to say ''most people are usually dead by now.....''

 

It would have been interesting if Hearns' hand had of held up. Even if he couldn't stop Hagler he needed to be able to keep him "honest" on the way forward. Once his hand broke and he'd lost that ability the fight was over.

 

I think Hearns had lost that fight before he ever stepped into the ring, he had the wrong gameplan & still hadnt learnt to clinch & survive when hurt.

Had he tried to stay outside & box he might have won, instead, as he said he would in the build-up he tried to put away Hagler early & trade with him from the opening bell.

 

Even staying on the outside he had to to able to stop Hagler taking this **** every now and again.

Very overrated fight IMHO.

 

Hagler at his peak:deal

Best case scenario: Tommy doesnt **** off Marvin in the build-up & get him angry then stays on the back foot & doesnt break his hand. Even then its a tough task but it would be a more competitive contest.

I think Beeston appreciates Floyd as much as he deserves to be appreciated.

 

What if boxing fans weren't so stupid and gullible enough to believe every excuse that Roberto Duran pulls out of his fat arse? Would they still claim that he was underprepared and not motivated when he just happened to be fighting the best fighters that he had ever fought?
