Young was a very slick and elusive fighter but not very powerful. Yes, Young beat Foreman, but I think Frazier would beat Young even though he was bulldozed by Foreman twice.

Marciano had a similar style to Frazier. Is this a winnable fight for Young?

A swarmer like Marciano is a terrible style match up for a light hitting ultra defensive boxer like Young.

Fighters like Tyson, Marciano, Frazier, would eat Young alive.

Yeah, Jimmy had a prescribed offensive output that wasn’t too high or flexible.

The name of the game for Jimmy was to use his defensive skills to keep his opponents connection rates below his own.

I totally agree that swarmers are poison for Jimmy - they are actually the perfect antidote for a style and output such as Young’s.

    They literally eat him up.

A slick boxer needs some decent power to keep Marciano off him and make the fight competitive. I do not think Jimmy Young had enough power to do that. Marciano would just walk through him and the pressure would be brutal! I have to go with Rocky in this one.

Yeah, I agree. I think swarmers are his kryptonite. Especially swarmers with punching power
