Brooks answered this on ringside.. he was in line to fight for the IBF and the offer top rank made him was garbage money and wanted options on him or something? It's obvious hearn would advise against taking this shot unless there was nothing else in the pipeline... he was mandatory though so would be stupid to take this fight on those terms. Had he took the bradley fight, had he won he wouldn't be mandatory anymore would he so theres the argument would he of even fought porter.. who knows... Nobodys arguing brooks resume is average, he has porter on there and senchenko whos an 'ok' fighter after that nothing great. If you'v followed his career though you'd know that it's been tough for him to get a shot, comparing to khan whos name was huge and got a title shot 1 fight after being KO'd... things like that only happen for big names. Early in his career he was taken down a poor route getting to number 1 in the wbo i believe with ******, the champ being pacquiao, he was clearly never going to get the pacquaio fight so the route he took was pointless.~ He then signed with hearn and got to mandatory for the ibf after a few fights, he then had the whole injury fiasco which was unfortunate. He then was a year behind waiting for the next mandatory status to be called. All he's done really is go along the route of governing bodys and the only real offer of a big fight he came across was bradley but as I said earlier the timing for it was wrong and the offer was garbage.
Don't know who these fans are that are saying this? Think you are chatting utter sh it tbh and are quite bitter. Totally pointless thread, you should really get a life. For the record he was meant to fight Devon Alexander in 2013, less than 12 months after the proposed Bradley fight, but it fell through because of injuries. Bradley was top 10 P4P, Alexander was a solid champion. For someone fighting for their first title, easy decision to make really for anyone with a brain, so I can see why you are struggling with it.
get off brook's ****. I see tons of fans saying this bs to me. You're obviously one of those fans but won't dare claim this. There are so many brook fans that say that Brook had to work the hard way, and never caught a break. this is totally untrue, and he clearly could have gotten a title nearly 2 years before he did.
ellerbe devon told us all how you got your ass stretched out , i hate to dissapiont you but the rumours about brook just aint true
He followed the rankings and governing bodys, surely you can;t blame him for where people rank fighters. They had saldivia face him for a final eliminator, that's not brooks fault he was garbage lol.
Look he clearly took the safer route. But it just annoys me when brook fans say he never got a shot blah blah, his resume is garbage because the dude never got a fair shake. That's all.
dude is terribly ugly, and i remember when he was making a big deal out of his fruitiness and salido beat his ass. i think he had a parade or something before the fight.
Your just being stupid, it's called making business decisions. You only take the bradley fight on poor money and them having options on your next 3 fights if you HAVE TO. The bigger problem for me is hearn, he has too many stay busy fights for all of his fighters and they take them against garbage fighters. I think kell can be a little silly with this too, I think he actually thought him v gavin would be a big fight because it was 2 brits... He needs to stop with the stay busy fights now and get his career on the track it should be against top opposition, rios is september.... a big fight in december hopefully khan & then i believe his mando will be called next and believe devon v chavez in the final eliminator so kell v alexander would be interesting.
How am I being "stupid"? I just learned about this recently, and this is a response to the Brook fan's who claimed that told me he had it harder than Andre Ward, and if there was a super six he would have entered. You're a moron if you think that Brook never got a shot, and that Bradley wasn't a fking gift since he was coming off beating Carson, in a fight he barely won. We all know how the UK scores fights, and whatever Brook got scored was far more generous than what he deserved and one scored it a draw. I agree with you on your opinions on hearn though, by far the worst promoter in boxing.
Well there being silly then, brook hasn't exactly had it 'hard' but he's never had the real name value that draws money/crowds for people to take the fight with him.. Be honest, would porter have fought him if he wasn't mandatory, no.... it wouldn't make sense because he could probably fight an easier fight for the same money. I'v no idea what his payday was but I doubt it was 1mill like he just got vs broner....
