Agreed. Footwork would be key and Calz's pace almost always played a big part in his wins.

Is this a serious post? Now I am not saying who would win either way, I have not seen enough of Ward to make a valid judgement. However to say Ward would win in 3 rounds is pretty absurd.

Calzaghe had amazing stamina, a difficult southpaw style and could throw loads of combinations from all angles. More importantly he had a terrific boxers brain. I could never see Ward overwhelming him in 3.

Ward's head butts and clinches would not work against Slappy. Ward comes in the way he does, and Joe steps right and fires, steps left and fires, steps back and fires, steps right and fires, steps . . . . . well . . . . I'm sure you get the point:yep

Not a big Calzaghe fan here. Not at all. Still, Calzaghe beat a much better version of Kessler, though not as dominantly.

I think it would be a competitive fight. But Calzaghe would adjust to Ward after a couple rounds, and he would have the right answers for Wards dirty tactics. Calzaghe UD.

And again, I'm not a Calzaghe fan.

I still think it's too early to tell when really the guy has only had one world class fight at (2 if you count mirander). I just think a lot of people are getting ahead of themselves.

I not saying that ward isn't going to be a great boxer, just that it's too soon to tell.

Who knows how good Ward will be, hes at the start of his career. He certainly performed better than Calzaghe though against Kessler, showed a better defense, less mistakes and was faster. I think Ward might edge it

In my opinion Ward/Kessler was more of a matter of Kessler looking bad than a matter of Ward looking good. He looked like a shot fighter, or at the very least, a very, very rusty fighter. Ward's speed impressed me, but nothing else.

Let me ask you a serious question: Replace Kessler with Joe, Froch, Abraham, Pavlik, or even Jermain Taylor. Now tell me how many of those head butts they'd have taken before they planted a knee in Ward's nuts and an elbow in his face?

I mean he did step up and take out the favorite of the super six tournament...I understand were you're coming from, but the thing is how will we ever know how good he will be if he doesnt step up the comp. ?

Once he finishes this tournament he will be ready for elite fighters IMO...I dont think they want to take it slow like Chavez Jr. who hasnt fought an elite fighter yet IMO...I guess its up to how you feel about the situation...Dont get me wrong...I understand your points and I do agree some what...but me being a fan...I would rather for Ward to prove his greatness and pursue a great legacy!:good

Yeah I agree with that and he's heading the right way. But lets see how he does against JT and Dirrel before we start calling the fantasy fights.

lmao... These results look identical to the Kessler/Ward polls. More than likely the same nationalists and Ward haters would get owned. Again.
