Morrison was nowhere near Tyson`s level, the only comparison was there left hook power, Tyson was much better in every other department.

 

Tyson's hand speed would have made short work of Morrison. Tommy would not make it out of the first round IMHO.

 

It would've been fun while it lasted (not for the Duke mind) which would have been no more than 2-3 rnds with Tyson taking Morrison out in brutal fashion. Morrison had the offensive arsenal to make anyone have a moment of pause but, no way would his chin hold up whereas Tysons chin was pretty damn solid.

 

I actually don't think Morrison ever got over the Mercer loss, or at least he lost focus and did all the wrong things. The Bentt shambles was emblematic of that. Tyson was pretty much the same after Douglas. A later 90s fight would have been competitive if Morrison hadn't contracted hiv.

 

& too bad he ended up getting boob implants I'm not sure how it escalated to that point but *sigh

 

Getting KO'd like that can be life changing. & With years & years of brain trauma probably made Morrison a lil off mentally

 

Pretty sure Morrison had the same manager as Tyson in bill Cayton. Think they took a lot of Tyson's training methods as well. You could hear them shout number combinations to Morrison on YouTube videos like they did with Tyson. The numbered system Tyson used for combination punching.

He was pretty much an inferior Tyson tho....with a poor chin. Dangerous and pretty good fighter at his best tho.

 

The reality is any one of us could have been unfortunate enough to have contracted the AIDs virus. It is Russian roulette, obviously you are loading more chambers to the revolver the more active you are. But to define someone by the fact that they died from AIDs is wrong. Yes, he was reckless but many, many young people are. He just happened to be unlucky. A real tragedy.

 

He didn't waste his career, he contract a immune killing virus that still at the time was associated with the gay community. He was getting ready to fight Lennox Lewis when he got the news from his blood test. He was slated to make $10 million dollars. That was a soul crushing day to live.

 

Tua would have put Morrison to sleep!

 

It's a sad story in a lot of ways but fighting when knowingly having the HIV virus is appalling behaviour.

Tyson could have been the best ever if he wanted it. Morrison was a fringe contender that people remember due to white skin and clever match-making.
