To me the guy that takes on the best fights and wins them or most of it combined with skill should be p4p number 1. Thats why martinez is rated so highly now because of his recent work. A guy like donaire has all the potential to become number 1, so do guys like juanma or khan. Floyds careerpath is logical but I prefer guys who take on anyone, especially with the skills that floyd has its such a waste that he didnt take on everyone especially after beating Oscar. Even if he lost 1 or 2 fights his legacy would be so much better then its now.

Yes. Morales, despite being faded, was an elite fighter and still more talented/skilled than Corrales. This is not me taking anything away from Floyd's win - which I thought was a wonderful performance, and one of my favourite fights to watch again and again.

But all these attempts at picking faults with Pacquiao's resume, are futile. We can do the exact same thing Mayweather, and any other fighter.

Fact is, Pacquiao hasn't been working towards a Mayweather fight like you're suggesting. Pacquiao has been doing his own thing, building up his legacy without Mayweather.

yep its the media and boxingfans pushing for it, I think both guys wouldnt really mind if they never fought. Pac doesnt care if he fights him or not and mayweather wants every advantage before he is wiling to get in the ring.

    I agree.

If the fight is never made, Pacquiao can retire happily. He's got a brilliant resume of ATGs and elites, and most impartial observers will recognize that he was the one who made the most effort in securing a Mayweather fight.

The same can't be said for Mayweather, who since joining the WW division, has built himself a notorious reputation of avoiding the most dangerous fights. He won't be forgiven as easily if he doesn't fight Pac.

pac never targeted floyd when he was at the lower weights. he kept going up initially and mostly due to weight issues until he fought oscar and bigger fights opened up.

Pacquiao is already making 20million per fight.

and there are no risks for Pacquiao to take anyways.

Bradley, Berto, JMM... they are all the same level of risk as Mosley.

Martinez is the true risk but even the old school Manny might have thought twice. It would be like if JuanMa Lopez fought JMM

As for Floyd, Pac doesn't need Floyd. Pac is bigger than Floyd anyways
