Personally i believe he is the best middleweight of all time with Hagler coming in as number two. My dad was a big fan of his so used to see old fights against Benvenuti and Griffith and Jose Napoles but the fights i enjoyed the most were with Rodrigo Valdez. Messed up that he killed his wife though but he was a great fighter. Scary dominance. I know a friend of Tony Mundine. Tony told him "When Monzon hit me with the right hand, it burst all the blood vessels in my eyes and I was blinded" Chilling.
Hagler or Monzon... it's razor thin as to who is the GOAT at 160, so you're never wrong by picking one over the other. I favor Hagler, simply because he faced better opposition, but head to head, I favor Monzon slightly. Unfortunately, the H2H example is pure speculation, the actual outcome of their careers and their opponents isn't. 1a. Hagler 1b. Monzon
They made him a monster on fight night round 4, his right hand is like a cannon, I need to study up on the guy in your oppinion does he beat hagler and hopkins ??
I think he decisions Hopkins but Hagler is a tough one. I still think he edges it. At 160 he IS the man no doubt about it.
