Corrales stopped Castillo. Hatton would batter him, but it'd take longer and be more competitive than their actual fight was. Chico stood shoulder-to-shoulder with JLC. Hatton would maul him.

It was a shock come back KO from Corrales though when he seemed on the verge of defeat, and of course Castillo reversed it, albeit while overweight. Corrales was a more explosive puncher than Hatton you think? But if it was at Light Welter, even before Corrales, then of course Hatton has the natural advantage. However Castillo did do significantly better against Mayweather than Hatton did, twice.

If there was no Mayweather and no big fights at WW how long would have Hatton been Number 1 at Light Welter you reckon? How would he have done against Timothy Bradley, Kendall Holt, Ricardo Torres? Is his place in boxing history strengthened by his desire to fight the very best at WW, despite losing or would he have a stronger legacy if he had stayed at Light Welter and held the title like a Joe Calzaghe?

I think Castillo would beat him up. That was the night Tsyzu realized he didnt want to fight anymore. I think Kostya in his prime inserts Hatton in the upper level seats.

Corrales was definitely a bigger puncher than Hatton.

Calzaghe held nothing for years. Hatton was the no.1.

He chased one thing at welterweight: ££££'s.

What I'm saying is that Corrales' style, regardless of his power, allowed Castillo to be that competitive. Hatton has quick feet, is stronger than Castillo, and can smother the Mexican's work enough to always be getting the upper hand IMO.

Hatton would batter Corrales as well. All fun fights I imagine.

Hatton was not stronger than Castillo in my opinion and I think Corrales would have knocked Hatton out. Styles are just too much a like and Corrales had that big lefthook.

Both were very strong LW's. Hatton was not a particularly strong JW.

He managed to wrestle some pretty strong guys. He would be able to tie both of these up.

Not a strong 140? Hatton was a BEAST at 140.

Tszyu has stated that Hatton is by far the strongest guy he EVER faced.

I think the move up to 140 against the brutish, tough as nails Hatton is an ultimately unsuccessful one for him.

EDIT: Misread for Corrales. I think Castillo does better the Diego against Hatton, but still think the move to 140 removes most of his greatest strengths.

I think Hatton narrowly outboxes him, winning a large majority of the early rounds and hanging on late. A closer, more competitive Urango fight.

Castillo is a little too mechanical and would probably allow himself to get mauled a little on the inside.

He'd land some hurtful shots on Hatton and may hurt him badly, but I think Hatton will hold if he needs to and weather any storm. Probably be a 8-4, perhaps 7-5 decision Hatton's way.

All three of them were mechanical and one dimensional but both Corrales and Castillo were better accurate inside fighters and I think Hatton is weaker than most are giving credit for. He was aggressive and jerky but it wasnt the most effective style at times. He wasnt a particularly devastating puncher and Corrales could kills guys with his lefthook especially offensive fighters with porous defense like Hatton. Both also had better chins than Hatton IMO so it woud give them more chances.

A one offer at 140 (Castillo was often a junior middle on fight night) I could see him getting to Hatton on the inside and stopping him late. Barring any help referee'ing of course.

    Castillo, tko. Hatton UD's Corrales.

Juan Urango is more of a powerhouse than either. In fact, being strong and rugged was Urango's WHOLE game, and Hatton mauled and manhandled him down to stretch to a wide decision.

I have little doubts who would be outfighting who late, but Hatton would outspeed and outwork either early, and he'd have enough to hang on; He proved stronger then men who were stronger than either of these two.
