the Caveman's nickname

    I remember reading that Caveman Lee's nickname came from the sideburns he wore in the late 70's, but I can't remember where I read it. Google didn't get me any closer.

    Does anyone have a source (book, magazine) that has this information? Also, if anyone knows of a differing account of the origination of the nickname, please pass that on as well.

    Bump... how 'bout this: anyone else heard/read that the nickname was rooted in the sideburns? Just want to check if I'm, as Roger Clemons might say, misremembering something.
