Chimba was ON ****ING Point....although Anderson did catch the triangle. Sonnen impressed me and I have to admit I didn't think Chimba was going to be right on this one. Props to Chimba.
Thanks bro! I knew from watching Sonnen with Okami and Nate that Silvas in trouble although I was the most confident, you could tell the knowledgable posters, Achilles, Boinko, even fckn Ajax, to a certain extent Beebs and Jimmie.. SugarnGold is my boy (dont know who he picked) We know MMA! This thing aint rocket science!:deal And props to all of you who picked Chael. He lost.
^^^^^ If Sonnen was a more laid back, likes to strike wrestler then I would say Silva woul **** him up but I knew Chael would overcome talent, athleticism, speed etc with reckless abandon. Chaels method was his madness. Chael is one of the FEW fighters in MMA that doesn't go for take downs, he drives right through you. That means as long as he gets skin on skin he'll keep working for it. Koscheck, GSP, Evans, I think Fitch... not many do it. Those are the sort of takedowns I love and against Okami and Marquardt when Sonnen went for takedowns he would not stop until he got it. Alot of guys will catch a guy off balance, not follow through and let him re-establish his base. Guys like Sonnen and Kos keep working for it so while you are off balance, they try to make you more off balance until the TD comes.
No matter the decision Chael proved his wrestling quality and styles make fights. I knew a werstler would be a problem for Anderson but felt Anderson was far superior than Sonnen. That I quickly found out I was wrong about. I honestly didn't really know who Sonnen was aside from one of his WEC fights. I thought he was good but not Great. He's definitly got great wrestling.
What you mean his aura of invincibilty he seemed to have? Yeah probably. But, depending on how he reacts to the fight I think it could be good for him. Hopefully it gives him a kick up the arse for starters. I think he also proved a bit. He proved he can still fight hard, proved he had heart and determination and that he never gives up, even after taking a demoralising beating for 4 and a half rounds. And he managed to be involved in an exciting fight again. But overall, yeah he has lost a bit.
