It's funny cause Steve Kim / Gabe Montoya ( can't remember exactly who said it ) predicted this fight wouldn't happen on The Next Round Show last monday
Two examples, adds etc to make it seem like Ward is a road warrior. Ward can't sell tickets to save his life, hence the massive number of Oakland fights. There's no question of his ability, but Ward's character is too dull for the sport
I gave Fury loads of **** on his way to the title for shamelessly taking the path of least resistance. Yes, the governing bodies are **** for allowing them to do this but taking the blame from the fighters because other people allow them to behave in this manner is frankly ridiculous.
He clearly didn't want any of Price on his way up. Yes, David turned out to be a bit of a glass jawed joke but Fury clearly didn't want to fight him when he was being hyped as the next big thing and his mando for the British title. He also ducked Ustinov - claiming he was being stitched up when the Russian showed up in shape at short notice. If you look at his resume, it's clear as day he went after the weakest/smallest ranked fighters available to him.
He skipped British domestic level for higher world ranked fights to get closer to Wlad. Price would not have gotten him any closer to the titles. That isn't taking the road of less resistance. Price was a bigger fight down the line. Not Fury's fault he turned out to be a hype job. The Ustinov debacle was a joke. Who switches from an opponent like Chisora to Ustinov on two days notice? You don't know the first thing about boxing if you believe that was truly a duck. His record shows he signed on to fight NO.1 WBA ranked David Haye immediately after he fought Cunningham. 95% of people expected Haye to destroy Fury with an over hand right after seeing him floored by Cunningham. When Haye ducked Fury twice , Wilder was offered to take the slot on Sky Box Office and he refused. Cunningham-Haye-Wilder-Chisora- Wlad is not taking an easy path. Who did Pulev beat to get Wlad? Abel? Perkovic? Yeah , he really deserved it
I don't dislike Wider. Very respectable chap, with a good heart and a warming reputation as family man. I dare say that I would enjoy his company. I simply don't rate his boxing skills.
Well, if he punched Wilder in the face he might leave him crumpled on the canvas like ATG Sconiers did!
My own dislike of him began with my dissatisfaction with his LOC prior to the Scott fight, while many heralded him as unbeatable before he'd beaten a top 20 fighter. He earned my respect with his wins over Stiverne and Duhaupas, but only those 2 names elevate his resume in the slightest. Then theres the whole post show interview where he tells the fans that he's fighting for his wife and daughter and doesnt care the consequences to himself, every penny he earns goes to trying to help his family....then BAMMMMM.....he's paying a call girl $2500, she goes over and above his prepaid authorization at his request and he refuses pay, so she trys to sneak off with his $1200 watch. So he chokes her out, etc etc etc....then uses the event to hide from Chisora.:think
You're a total buffoon if you can't see that he ducked Price. Look at the opponents he fought after beating Chisora to win the title. Your list of the fights he tried to make are a joke. The best you can point to is two fights that never happened, Wilder and Haye. Haye was huge pay day for Fury at the time which is the only reason he entertained that bout. Now he's got plenty of cash he wouldn't take that fight regardless of whether or not Haye had pulled out on him twice before. He shat himself when he saw Ustinov that day. That's undeniable. He could of just walked away when Chisora was injured but waited until he saw his opponent before deciding it was too much of a risk. Not sure why you brought Pulev into it. His run to the title was a joke too. The likes of Pulev, Helenius, Fury, Wilder and co. should have all been going at it BEFORE they were granted shots at the champ. If they had ***** the size of Del Boy's then we wouldn't have this prob.
