How the hell does Tackie not get a mention, seriously? This is a lower end gatekeeper that has been in with Tszyu, Mitchell, Hatton, Holt and much bigger guys like Gomez, never been knocked out.
Calm down TFFP, I agree he's just not the first guy that pops in peoples heads but thanks for sharing:good
Well said, I agree. And Tackie's not like other fighters people tend assume may have a good chin merely because they've survived punchers - Tackie gets hit, alot, and hasn't been stopped.
Replace Guzman on my list with Tackie and slot him in around 7/8. I can't believe I forgot that guy. Awesome chin.
P4P, there is no competition currently... It's James Toney. He's got by far the best chin P4P. He's won titles in 4 divisions, and NEVER been knocked out. Furthermore, his career knockdowns in 80 fights consist of: 1. Reggie Johnson (perfect punch with his feet squared up) 2. Roy Jones (essentially a punch and push, Toney was never hurt) 3. Sam Peter (a 39 year old fat Toney was caught off balance). Toney has fought nearly twice as many fights as most of the people discussed on this board, and has weighed anywhere from 157-237 against TOP NOTCH competition. This discussion is a joke. The man put on 80 lbs, and still was never really badly hurt in a fight. He fought the best at Middle, Super Middle, Light Heavy, Cruiser, and Heavyweight without EVER seriously being hurt, and with 3 half-assed knockdowns... Cmon...Margarito? Pac? Calzaghe? This contest isn't even close...
I present to you Mr Oliver McCall. The guy had a mental breakdown in front of a hard hitting Lennox Lewis and still never got put down. He's not even been put down in training and he used to spar with a prime Tyson.
Oliver McCall was a natural Heavyweight. He never fought the competition that Toney did (on an overall career level), and he was a "natural" 220+ lb. man. Toney fought from middleweight to heavyweight... On a P4P basis, how do you compare???
