    I've been sort of waiting for Sergey to refute this claim and we know he would because the man is 1) uncensored and 2) is genuinely evil (see his POST FIGHT comment about wanting to break Mohammedi's nose, taunting after KD and TKOs, Evil Russian Mastermind laugh).

    YET, he has never once refuted the claim or said a single thing negative about Triple G... in fact, in the above interview, Kovalev actually pauses, looks nervous, before PRAISING Triple G and calling him the bigger puncher... and he ends the interview saying "I should not fight Gennady" with a smile...

    GGG is Kovalev's daddy and would beat the **** outta him in a match. Fact

    Nothing against Kovalev, he's a true champ and by far the best LHW atm. GGG is just that great

    He'd kill GGG even worse than he would Beterbiev. GGG has no stamina and his defense is too soft for the Krusher. Easy fight for Kov.

    Why do people get so obsessed over sparring that happened years ago. Sparring isnt a match, and this particular sparring was before Kovalev even worked with JDJ. It means nothing, its just 2 pro boxers practicing stuff.

    I think it's true but this is what John David Jackson said Sergey told him about it.

    'There’s been speculation that Sergey had a torrid time in sparring with Gennady Golovkin…

    ''Me and Sergey talked about that. Abel [Sanchez]’s blown that out of proportion. Yes they sparred. Sergey said, ‘John, the reason I don’t want to spar the kid is because I’ve got to hurt him. He said Triple G’s a tough guy, I’ve got to hit him with everything I’ve got to keep him off me and that’s going to hurt him. We’re friends. He says then Abel tries to make it a war and that’s not what we’re in there for. ‘That’s why I refuse to spar with the kid. Why should I have a war with him when I’m not going to make any money from it?’ He said Abel starts all this stuff but said, ‘The kid’s rough. I admit that. I had to hit him with everything I have to get him off. That’s all that was.’ They’re friends.''

    Pretty much sums it up. Only a fool would think Kovalev is afraid of GGG. Kovalev stated many times he respects GGG lots.
    Kovalev's size, power, relentless nature would be way too much for the smaller GGG.
