Is it only fighters that have become eligible within the last year that are under consideration? Or fighters who missed the cut first time round too? If the latter, I think Tommy Ryan and George Dixon warrant consideration.

No, there will be a list but i'm trying to find out who retired between January 1 2000 and December 31st 2000.

Also, Dixon and Ryan are in already.

I did **** it up, it's 2000 retirees we're after, not 2001. I'll edit my posts Greg. One thing, next year only Duran and Whitaker are getting in from the lower half probably.

Hello. How are you? I am fine.

I've been trying to do this for years and I think I'll just go ahead and do it now. My basic plan is this:

I'll nominate 20 fighters for each of the original eight divisions and ask you guys to vote for seven, eight or nine of them (haven't decided yet, open to suggestions) and then for each "in between" division I'll nominate a number of fighters and ask you guys to nominate one. That will give us 70-90 fighters, somewhere in that sort of region for the original intake. We'll have a thread with each fighter within it containing a thumbnail sketch of each fighter, record, all the usual pish.

Then, every year, on the anniversary of that thread going up, we'll have another intake of x number of fighters decided in y fashion. We'll have to decide that as a part of this process.

This thread is for forum opinion on the process. I'll list some questions below but first here is a point by point summary:

01 - The original intake will be made up of 7-9 fighters from each of 112, 118, 126, 135, 147, 160, 175 and unlimited; and 3 fighters from 105, 108, 115, 122, 130, 140, 154, 168, 200.

02 - The forum will vote from a selection of fighters made by me - I understand i'm asking you to trust me on that, and will sometimes disagree, but the democracy has to end somewhere I guess.

03 - The nominated fighters will then be captured in a Master Thread that will contain brief profiles of each fighter, each written by a member of this forum.

04 - There will be a new intake each year on the anniversary of the thread going up.

Not satisfactory (nothing I could think of would be) and up for discussion. So

a - Do you think the numbers for the first intake are right? 7,8 or 9 and 3? Which of 7-9 would you go for if you think that's right.

b - any better way to determine the twenty fighters on each shortlist? I want to avoid, if possible, a vote for the vote.

c - but a vote for the vote might be ok once a year when we have the new intake. How to decide that? It's not that urgent but I want to sort it before we publish (should be this year).
