In the Gomez post, it says he was lineal super bantamweight champion from 1977 to 1981 but he held the title until the end of 1982, his last defense coming against Lupe Pintor in December 1982.

Loved the Hagler write-up, Matt. Captured perfectly what made him so great. I always think the first Hamsho fight showed him at his best (even though he probably matched that performance prior and subsequently).

One minor error on the dates - Hagler and Duran fought in 1983, not 1982.

 

As requested O,Brien " he wore flaming red trunks, and a smirk, mind you the kid could back it up, in our first fight, my jab had him bleeding profusely, why he even had blood on his shins, but he kept coming forward, with the same intensity that had won him so many fights, and then that " shift " it was hell on earth " sure you know to whom he was referring to....

 

Are we at liberty to be informed of such quote ?

Loughran on fighting Greb, from "In this corner" by Peter Heller.

Admittedly a quote from Loughran about closing the distance isn't representative of his beautiful long range jab and move style, but perhaps is representative of his cerebral, versatile approach to the sweet science.

You have Miguel Canto's career as 1975-1979 on his page. It was 1969-1982.

 

Billy Conn's name is not above his picture (found on page 2) like the other inductees
