Hi I have seen your Yeoman's efforts & before I vote on tis maybe your final division, a couple questions:

    1) Is it greatness as we define it, or are we free to consider accomplishments, H2H, impact upon the sport-how should this be weighted?
Many Hall of Fames make arguments for FAME & social impact as worthy of induction-should we?
For example the early guys are handicapped-a peak Langford & Dempsey & Marciano would

be weighing in as a LHW today, if in ring at their actual fighting weights.

    2) For the only division without a max. weight, is pound for pound relevant?
So would this put the listed fighters on an equal footing, & let's say I find a 210-215 guy clearly but not hugely better than a 185-190 lb. man: would I pick the latter as more worthy, because I should consider weight & size?

Your criteria are your own outside of the discussed rules; fire at will.

Son on a Beach, you got back to me immediately-you must be working 'round the clock!
At this rate will be at 100K very soooon!
Remember we are counting on you to make 100,000 special, & something noteworthy for the penultimate 999,999...

OK, SINCE you mentioned lb. 4 lb. & made HW no exception...
AND you did not specify the terms, although my overwhelming usual impulse is to use overall accomplishments & H2H, I will make it fame & size adjusted.
Why no Fitzsimmons if actual weight is not a disqualification?
For that matter why no Sullivan? Not that they would quite make my top 7...

    Louis.
    Ali.
    Johnson.
    Dempsey.
    Marciano.
    Foreman.
    Liston.

Frazier easily could make it, but considering total fights-& not told that amateur years have a bearing here-I went with Liston.
Foreman had the second career accomplishments & renown.
As could Langford, Jeffries or Willis qualify-but they had less overall impact than the other early men.

But I want a balance between the eras & literal fame unless you are disqualifying that.

Foreman was approaching 49 when he had his final fight on 11/22/97.

Evander Holyfield did not retire in 1999.

Presumably this is now some form of joke. But it's a pain in my ass. I'm going to delete your original list because I don't want single posters having multiple lists in the thread. Please edit the post where you've nominated Holyfield for a second time incorrectly to include seven fighters form the original list.
