I've been wanting to research this one on my own, but this has been beginning to get to me.

What fighters openly avoided Ethnic American (primarily African American) contenders to deny their chance at a title?
I'm aware of Tommy Loughran, but like I said I haven't had the chance to begin research (I'm chipping away at two other projects right now). John J. Jefferies comes to mind (while he was a champ).

What fighters were "screwed" because of these kind of antics? I know "The Murderers Row" is a huge part of that. The fighters in "the row" might not consider themselves that way, but in history we see them as an extremely talented crew of men running on hard luck.

Writer's note: Now, some of you might be thinking, "Why bring up this 'color line' crap?" well it's not crap, it's about history. The color line, in history, has cut deeper into America's mentality deeper than any long sword could physically do. Ignoring the fact that it existed is an even greater injustice, without it in our history how will we learn from it?
