The complete, extremely detailed guide how to score a fight properly (~30 mins)

Anyone else notice Juan Manuel's clever Uppercut - Straight combo? Used it to great effect. The left lead uppercut landed regularly, and when it didn't, it moved Pacquiao's arms/hands enough for the straight to get through and score. Lovely stuff, clean and effective :bbb.

 

you can add 3 more to make it more align to amateur boxing.

1. both fighters should wear headgear and shirt.
2. reduce the rounds to 4 from 12.
3. drop the 10 point must scoring system and follow amateur rules.

nice and easy.

this is the most stupid thing you can compare. if u look at marquezs last fights his skin is getting very fast bruised because of his age. you cant compare to boxers faces. some people skin can take far more punches than others without showing...go to your doctor and ask him instead of answearing without knowing what yore talking about.

 

I agree that fights should be predominantly based on who scores the cleaner and more effective punching but sometimes there has to be considerations.

i.e. If a boxer is running all night and then decides to engage in the last 15 seconds and scores a cleaner shot, the basis for this is stop the sport being boring as hell and to encourage the boxers to put on a good show.

Now I can think of many examples and saturdays would not be one. Marquez put on a technical masterclass which saw him backing up in order to lead Pacquaio in and towards his shots. Their is a big difference between running and fighting on the back foot.

That is the only flaw I can think of with the scoring system BB.

This is just ridiculous. Judging a fight by whose face is more beat up.
Have any of you seen Marquez face against : Casamayor, Diaz I & II, Katsidis, Mayweather, Barrera ?
He always bruises and swells up. Its just how his face is.
Pacquiao on the other hand doesn't show that much.
Marquez landed right in his eye socked in the second fight. Its the worst ive seen Pacquiao.
