I don´t see any similarities with Tyson and Hopkins. GGG has offered a fight at 154, the weight division where Floyd is the champ. GGG is not offering any catch weight, he is willing to take Floyds belt. (Imagine Tyson or Hopkins offering a fight at 154).

That is not the case with Ward, who wants GGG to come up to 168. It is not ducking. GGG has offered him fight with fair terms (catch weight at 164) but Ward said no. I wouldn´t call it a duck, Ward just refused to fight GGG at 164. Btw. I said earlier that May is borderline because he is retiring soon so I don´t blame him.

Lara is not even fighting at 160 so forget that b....t!

Hopkins also offered to fight him at 154 (it was a ruse) but he did, actually every fighter in the sport in or around his weightclass has called him out. Because fighting him comes with the biggest payday of their career. So it's unfair to say that the best of the sport, the cash cow is ducking anyone. especially someone from a higher weight class. Real fighters change up in weight. Not down.

Besides, you Do know that GGG saying he'll fight Ward at a 164 catchweight is a ruse too. They know Ward has a hard time even making 168 now, and is soon for the LHW division.

I remember reading Hopkins offered to come down 15 pounds to 160 to fight Floyd, not 154. I guess you don´t see Hagler as a real fighter..

Hagler fought any, and everybody. GGG doesn't deserve that kind of mention at present.

I wrote earlier that it´s not a duck because we don´t know can Ward come to 164. At the same time, GGG is not ducking Ward either because they are fighting different weight class. If Ward calls GGG to fight at catch weight of 164 or for GGG title at 160, it´s the different story. If GGG refuse those offers, he is ducking clearly. (And no, it´s not the same situation as Floyd vs GGG - GGG calling Floyd at 154, not 160)

It is the same, actually worse. GGG was perfectly willing to Meet Chavez Jr at 168. Called Ward out and when Ward said let's go. Now GGG wants 164. With Ward not making the 168 limit 2 out of his last 3 fights, I'd say it's safe to say he is short lived for 168.

But you just wrote "Real fighters change up in weight. Not down.". So which is it? GGG wants to unified MW champion, so I don´t really see your point. He is the one who wants to fight everybody at 160. So what´s the problem?

    Hagler did the same?

Hopkins wasn´t keen to fight Toney at SMW, instead he made a record of 20 defenses of his MW belt. Again what´s the problem?

Hagler can be forgiven for it with his resume. GGG, not so much.

We are not talking Hopkins. We are talking GGG, this thread is about those that have ducked GGG. My point is no one has ducked him, anymore than he has ducked: Ward, Lara. Well maybe Chavez Jr, and Froch did.

Most definitely not Mayweather. Now you are bringing up fighters like Hopkins, and Hagler to make your point. GGG doesn't compare. So your failing with your comparisons.

Was it his desire to be unified champion when he chased a fight at 168 for Chavez Jr. and Froch? Stop making excuses for GGG not stepping up.

both Gennady and Marvelous are among the best middleweights of all time

Marvelous got the chance to prove that, Gennady is proving is by the unprecitended level of ducking and his insane am record

lets not make the black king fight the white king, there's no need

Gennady hmself went on record saying about Marvelous

    "ahhh, yes, Marvelous. Great champee'n"

I'm not in anyway saying GGG is not a great fighter. In fact I believe he is the best MW in the world right now. With the exception of Chavez Jr, and Froch though. I wish people would stop saying fighters are ducking him. And for Christ's sakes please stop comparing him to fighter's such as Hagler and Hopkins. One day he may be greater. Today is Not that day.

In what situation or line did I compare Haglers or Hopkins career to GGG. I made comparison to the situation which in many ways is similar at that particular time in their career. What happened after that is totally different subject and impossible to discuss because GGG isn´t there yet. And there are lot of proof how GGG is been ducked (Fighters and promoters are admitting it in live television interviews) so it´s just plain stupidity deny those facts. There are lot of published research that explain why constant denial makes person to belief his own word ignoring the facts and all rational thinking.
