A lot of people here (including me) are debating what would be better for the HW division, looking at the Wladimir vs Haye bout and (on the background) the Vitali vs Adamek bout.
So I made a layout of the possible (most probable) outcomes, so everybody can draw his own conclusions.
Of course I have my own views written under the possible outcomes wich you can totally ignore of course.

It's a long read, be prepared.

    Povetkin fights Mormeck

for the vacant WBA “regular” Championship of the World and all it's surrounding planets. No matter who wins this crap, it just sucks bigtime!

Haye fights the winner of the WBA1 situation, and if succesful he has his title right back (weird, weird situation), and if he loses Povetkin or Mormeck

Will the WBC be the wisest for a change and trow the vacant belt in the mix with the rest of the trinkets? Probably not, but we can all hope can't we?

The “man” from the WBC loses to an upcoming fighter and we have to hope it's one with “cojones”. If that's the case we have another superfight on our hands between “the long time champion” and “the man that beat the man” for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship of the World.
Chances are he will be milking his strap for all it's worth, but let's stay positive.

This is something that will actually be good for the divison, but I don't think it's going to happen. Adamek is a real warrior, he wants to fight the best and has a strong believe in himself that he can actually beat them too. So there are a lot of possibilities here, with the best option Wlad beats Haye and fights Adamek in a superfight.

2 of Wlad's former victims Chambers and Thompson batlle it out for the IBF strap.
Not much people will take this one seriously, and it's hoping for another big name to step up.

Maybe even worse than the IBF1 situation, Wlad has to fight one of the guys he already KO'd (Chambers or Thompson) to get his belt back that Haye won and then left for the rest of the division. Wlad will probably win it, but again noone will take this one seriously. > TURMOIL2

Adamek fighting Helenius for the vacant WBO belt, and we can only hope Helenius turns out to be one of the new “big guys”. There has to be said, this fight probably will only happen if Adamek loses the Vitali bout, wich he probably will.

This is in the case Helenius has to fight Tua (for crying out loud) because Adamek beat Vitali, Haye beat Wlad and retired. Let's hope for Zeus' sake Helenius would win that one because Tua winning this would devaluate the belt even more.
Let's be clear here, I think Tua is one of the best HW's who never picked up a strap of some sort, and I would be happy for him if he did. But this is not that Tua anymore... Tua is gone, and if he beats Helenius and wins the strap it would be laughed away.

Not that many people would care about this one, but the WBA #1 and IBO #1 contender Ruslan Chagaev has to beat some poor smuck to get this belt.
While the others are fighting for the bigger belts, poor Ruslan is the victim of being dangerous and a nobody actually. And he has a decease that gives opponents a way out.
If Chag wants to wait for his shot at the WBA “regular” title he can wait 'till he's old and grey. The WBA has his own rules, and they don't contain justice...

    Add up WBA1, IBF1, WBO1 or 2, and IBO1
The WBC situation is unknown in this outcome, either Vitali or Adamek is the champ and if the first one he would be the man to beat (wich means avoid nowadays) in the divison.
Big fights will look further away then ever because probably none of the winners of the above mentioned fights will actually fight eachother. Yeahh... HW is in ruins.

Like TURMOIL1 only Wlad probably has his IBF belt back, but it would be tainted of course.
He won't be as big a draw as he once was and nobody probably wants to fight him (risk/reward).
The division would be one of the saddest ever...

Like TURMOIL1 or 2, but with Vitali out of the picture and also the WBC belt up for grabs.
It would probably take a long, long time before the division has a “big champ” again and we can only hope that a “great one” stands up.

    Best case scenario!
We have an undisputed champion, and one that actually fights on. Now hope the alphabets apply their rules so the right challengers fight for the title. No Tua's, Harrison's, Mormeck's, Briggs', Ruiz', Chisora's or any other totally undeserving challengers.

Well as a maths teacher i'll play my own markhov chain theory without embellishing the numerics.

Wlad smashes haye -> vitali scores a boring ud over adamek -> brother k hold a massive press conference where big bro announces his retirement to concentrate on his political career -> wlad v adamek for the unified championship -> wlad smashes adamek -> pure dominance, we see another 5 years of wlad squashing every challenger out there and people bemoan his dominance -> wlad finally retires with 20 defences of his heavyweight championship and we suddenly realise how sad this day is -> 5 years on we talk about wlad with fellow atg's and complaining about him not being appreciated during his prime.

Now of course adamek or haye can throw a spanner in the works early on but i've analysed the outcomes and this is the most likely sequence of events.

So in approx 10 years i'll be tell you all "told you so"

This is one of the quite possible outcomes, but this is more of a "What can happen and what are the division's concequences?" kinda deal.

As Vitali and Haye are near retirement the best case scenario is for

Adamek to beat Vitali and fight the winner of Wlad/Haye with Adamek or Wlad coming out Undisputed and fighting on.
