All fighters of a certain level, that is those with a winning record with aspirations of world title success, should believe they can beat every fighter they get in the ring with. Your already beat if you believe otherwise...so no matter what your opponent throws at you, there must be a belief and confidence there that ultimately victory will be yours. Even if you have doubts, you must use them to your advantage in some way. Perhaps this is what Hopkins is trying to do with his hilarious ranting about how hes going to whoop Joe and how its impossible for him to lose to a white person...hes trying to throw Joe of his game whilst simulataneously convincing himself that hes going to win...
