As much as I'm looking forward to this fight I'm curious to find out your thoughts on the consequences of defeat for either men. I'm a fan of both but a loss for JMM, I think, will be not as damaging as it will be for Diaz. I know there were 'circumstances' in Diaz losing to Campbell but is this as must-win for him? I don't think he's going to become a gatekeeper just yet but a win is vital for the Baby Bull.

And we all know JMM is basically now stalking Pacquiao for a third fight, and rightly so.

Diaz doesn't have much to lose. He could still be a big player at lightweight if JMM beats him, because JMM will likely move up.

JMM could hurt his reputation, although he's already a HOF'er.

I think JMM will beat him handily but a high output fighter like Diaz is just the thing that usually hurts veterans. If JMM gets old overnight he is in deep ****.

    i think it's the opposite....

if Diaz loses, he can say..."well i lost to the guy who drawed and had a razor thin loss to the P4P King"

if Marquez loses, he loses to guy who got the **** beat out of him by Nate Campbell......ain't much to say about that

to me, this is a MUST win fight for JMM

Diaz can afford another loss to an elite. He's got plenty of time. JMM has to win to continue to cement his legacy and step out of the long shadow the "Big Three", especially if he intends to continue chasing Pac into the heavier stratospheres. :ibutt

jmm in light of his desire to fight pac a third time cannot afford to lose ANY fight whatsoever. at 36 it's sudden death for his career, and forever dismissed and laughed at by the pac hordes.

Jmm has more to lose cuz he is older and if he loses to diaz then he might as well hang it up cuz he aint getting another shot at pacman. If juan diaz lose he can still recover cuz his young and he can make the excuse of he lost to the # 2 lb 4 lb :D

Seemingly JMM's career is motivated solely on securing a fight with Pacquiao and a loss to Diaz would devestate his chances of getting that fight. Therefore a loss hurts JMM more than Diaz becuase it would effectively crush JMM's #1 career goal.

they are still both game fighters if they were to lose. Nothing at stake here except loser can't call Pac out. The winner has a 2 percent chance of getting a fight with the Pacman.

it's a must win situation for marquez he has alot more to loose, which I don't think he will. it's going to be a good fight can't see babybull winning this one though.
