I think because as a continent, some countries were conquered by French, other by British.

So most will (being serious now) will use names that originate from Kem ancient Egypt which are Bantu languages.
Europeans found too many to keep up, so rather than say one tribe (Cushite) they said Aith & Ops, land of the black faced people aka Ethiopia. Point is the land is so huge, that 1/2 way through the land, the dialects dramatically changes.

So Syriac, Aramaic & Arabic names are also used by many blacks in America who change their names. As Africa I think is best defined by Leo Africanus a Greek dude who named the land which was once called Akebulon.
Akebulon has many languages, therefore an African name could literally refer to several languages.
A lot of black women named their daughters 'Aisha', (I-eesha)... not knowing that was an Arabic name for one of Mohammad's wife. I learned a lot of whites think that is a black name, it isn't.

Like the Chinese who speak Mandarin & Cantonese, same with Africa is my point.
