Clinching has its place, and is a legitimate tactic, but it shouldn't be used excessively.

I was referring to the leaning and clinching Wlad did everytime Mormeck got near him.

I thought he clinched a decent bit against pulev it was a decent watch though. The povetkin fight was a shambles honestly non stop . He wasn't too bad against haye I think his legs are leaving him. I don't see ward as bad as everyone else e seems to be the only with wlad who gets criticism

how many of those clinches did Wlad initiate himself, and how much of that was because of Povetkin rushing into Wlad's chest with his head tucked?

The thing I hate though is when the refs don't let them fight out with the free arm totally destroys fights bika dirrell 2 was a disaster with that. Refs are **** at the moment

I agree about the letting them fight out of it part, then when they stop doing that the ref has to break and then warn and penalize, no breaks thats what the minute between rounds is for

The Mayweather vs Maidana rematch has to be one of the worst refereed fights recently, he was breaking them up before they even made contact it felt like

Yeah I hate that when it looks like there able to get out and the ref jumps in and puts them miles apart yeh the ref was totally biased for Floyd in the rematch. Agree with you totally though

    Completely agree.

Boxing is a combat sport. Some people want to see all the actual combat taken out of the sport.

players in every sport have abandoned the fundamentals, and merely rely on superior athletics. baseball players used to be taught to get in front of a ground ball to their right. now they just depend on stabbing at it. better reflexes, and less heart or will to take any pain.
