The cost of buying Sauerland TV rights

Kalle Sauerland in a recent BN interview said that he had given Danish rights away free in order to promote his stable.

Presumably he would be equally amenable to the UK market. Since Setanta's demise, and previously Nuts TV no one has expressed any interest.

Any know how much Setanta/Nuts paid?

This is actually a good question. Would love to know if anyone knows the answer.

Surely Channel 5 would take it if it was free

Setanta paid 150k for there Top Rank deal, i imagine Sauerland was half the amount.

150k is reasonable why does sky not just buy the rights for top rank fights?instead of buying speedway, pool, showjumping etc!!

theres still other costs and sky probably doesn't get that many more viewers. for that 150k setanta will off got no more than 50 hours of live boxing.

speedway, pool and the other sports you mentioned, they could get 250 hours for less than 150k.
